You hypothesize that God exists, so you ask if he has these attributes. If God exists do you believe in him? If God exists and you do believe in him, your question will be insignificant. If you believe God exists and you don't believe in him, your faith will not affect the situation if you are not the loser. If you don't believe that God exists, it means that you "negate" the attributed to, hence the attributes.
