Allah has exempted all incapacitated people and those with a valid excuse from fasting e.g. children, expectant women, nursing women and women in their menstrual period. The old, the traveller, the sick and the weak are also exempted. The sick, the traveller and all others who are temporarily unable to fast have to fast after recovery from sickness, completion of the journey and removal of the excuse, for the number of days missed. Those who are permanently incapacitated, however, have to feed one poor person in place of every fast missed. “But if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (should he made up) from days later. For those who can do it (with hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent.”(2:184) In the Jaami' Tirmizi, it has been narrated by Anas radhiyallahu anhu that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said that Allah has excused fasting for pregnant and nursing women. In other words, if in Ramadhaan these women feel that fasting will be dangerous to their own or their child's life, they are allowed to postpone their fasting whilst the excuse lasts and make up the missed fasts later.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) has narrated that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the month of Ramadhan starts, the doors of heaven are opened, the doors of the hell are closed, and Satan is put into chains" (Sahih Muslim Kitab-ulSaum). In this saying the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has promised a high place in heaven for one who observess the fast because a believer is enjoined to perform such deeds that please Allah and stay away from bad things.
"Ramadan Kareem" means, "have a Generous Ramadan", it's a greeting like "Ramadan Mubarak", which means "have a Blessed/Rewarding Ramadan".
I hope these answers your questions! And thank you for your wish!

Muslims can break a fast or not fast if they have health problems or if they are sick, travelling, pregnant, breast feeding, etc. You do have to make up the fasts later though unless you have a persisting illness or something. As for Ramadan Kareem, I don't know why people say that. I just say Ramadan Mubarak.
And, yes, the doors of hell are closed, and all the doors of heaven are opened, and the shayateen (plural shaitaan) are chained.

1) Pregnant women can't fast
2) sick people
3) Travellers
4) Women having their periods
Although we must complete the 30 days fasting even if we have to fast a few days after ramadan.
Kareem means "happy and full of blessings". Like Happy Ramadan - Ramadan Kareem

The reasons that i am aware when u are allowed not to fast are if ur pregnant, breastfeeding, on ur period, sick (taking medication) and if ur traveling. I don't believe that the doors of hell are closed this month evil is always around and wanting us to fall into his traps and Happy Ramadan to u also .

In the event of any illness you do not need to fast. Or during a woman's period. If you choose to not fast, you can make a donation to the poor. That's what I have to do.

Thank you sister. If a woman is going through her period or is in confinment she is not and can not fast. Instead she has to make up the days missed a day for a day after she is off it.
