Ew, don't do that!
Try this stuff called Cold MD! Works like a charm.
Take a hot shower, drink a lot of fluids, and sleep a lot!
But boy, I'm with ya'. I'm sittin' here stayin' home today..because I'm sick as well =( Been coughin' and sneezin' all night long.
I'm sick and tired of bein' sick and tired.
But anyway, get yourself some medicine..and REAMS Chicken Noodle Soup. Ahh, that stuff cleanses the pallette. YUM!! It's SO much more heartier and much more filling than Campells Chicken Noodle Soup.
I hope I've helped you out!!!!

I have the very same problem! I had a sinus infection for two months and didnt know it so when I went to the doctor she told me that I have chronic sinus allergies she prescribed Claritin it helps some but not always. Its hard thing to get rid of sinus problems. If its really that bad Sudafed works great!

You can try some or all of the following...
Saline nasal spray, sudafed, drink hot tea or lemonade *don't burn yourself*, chicken noodle soup, vicks vapor rub, if all else fails go to your doctor and make sure you don't have an infection... good luck I have a viral infection and I'm pregnant so I know how you feel except I can't take much medication...

Boy, that's miserable!
There are a number of OTC meds that are supposed to help with this. But the thing I've found is the biggest help is hot steam. From coffee, tea, bouillon, or even a shower or hot bath.
Drink lots of hot liquids, take vitamins, and use steam. That should help you feel better.
Good luck!

Vicks is good. My mother used to put vicks in water (i think peppermint can work too) and boil a pot on the stove. Then we had to sit over it with a towel over our head and the pot. But Nyquil is the tish, and vick has a nose inhaler, but that dries out your sinuses. Try the steam thing. Oh yeah, and somene said hot sauce?

I just got over being sick like that. I used Vicks under my nose and one of those Breathe Right strips. It helped a lot at bedtime. Hope you're better soon.

i like to blow my nose in the shower, the steam helps break stuff up. also ive heard that the salt water in the ocean helps too, if you feel up for some surfing. other remedies would be spicy as F food such as Thai, Indian, or GOOD Mexican. Or maybe a shot of tequila. the mexicans swear by it.
dont blow your nose too hard, you dont want to blow out your eardrums!

VICK'S works great, so do really hot showers but the absolute best way to break up congestion is to drink tons of water. I mean tons of water, it will help keep things moving along in your system and flush away your cold.

I wouldn't shoot straight for the antibiotics because your body builds up an immunity to them. Try some Triaminic or some TheraFlu. Eat soups and stews to help loosen congestion.

1) saline wash--not pleasant, but cheep and effective
2) Sudafed shower pucks
3) lay off the caffiene and dairy (they thicken mucous) and drink LOADS of water( it thins the mucas.
4) Guifessiun-containg products such as Mucinex
5) see a doctor
