It depends on your health and how long you plan to fast. In the religion I'm a part of, we routinely (each month) fast for two meals, if health permits it. Those who are not old enough to be baptized are also exempt. So, if you are planning to fast for a day or two, I don't see the harm, provided you are generally healthy and don't have to take any medications that preclude you from fasting. However, if you plan to fast longer than a day or two, you might want to consult a doctor before beginning.

If God is laying it on your heart to, sure. There are different types of fasts out there. There are also different lenghts of fasts too. Some people fast from television. Some people do partial food fasts, such as just raw vegetables. I have done several fasts because there were certain prayers that I needed God to confim whether it was yes or no.
I reccomend if you fast, that you immerse yourself in God's word. It really can sustain you.
My husband did a 40 day fast where all he had was fresh juice. I did an 11 day one with him to finish off his fast. I knew I was going to join him when temptation started to come.
It is very important that if you are doing this for spiritual purposes, that you do devotions during the times you would normally eat or whatever you are going to fast from, because you will be tempted.

Fasting will not change the man's behavior or activities. Its totally a drama. You are starving and thinking of food all day. Cannot do your regular work. Get angry for a small reason. Cannot control your senses. Fasting is another stupid religious practice given by Muslim parents to separate them from the others. Which will eventually makes and creates stupid religious difference later stage. Kill all the others who are not fasting. Close all the shope who are selling food. All the other religous people must not eat while we are fasting. I wish if the whole world had this religous rules ?

Anybody who is healthy and has reached puberty should fast according to Islam. If you have sickness then depending on the seriousness of the sickness you can be excused, and not fast or delay your fasting.

If you are 4'6" it might be okay.
Edit: At 5'10" you are far too thin, and you should not be fasting. I'm not a doctor or a nutritionist; I'm just giving you my opinion.

Only on doctor's orders, for example, before certain procedures. Other than that, the scientific term for it is "ridiculous."
