i know 'esposa' translates to 'wife'.
my teacher said something about 'esposas' but 'wives' does not make sense. he was saying something about the police.

what does esposas mean?

Esposas = Wives
Esposas = Handcuffs
That is the same word used in 2 different ways.

Las esposas = handcuffs.
It is probably derived from the fact that the two hands are joined together by "esposas".

Esposa= wife
Esposas=wives
and cops use "ESPOSAS" = handcuffs

Yes it means wives plural. For instance one could say, Las esposas de todos los hombres estan viviendo aqui. Translated this would mean, the wives of all the men are coming here.

Must be slang in regard to the police thing.

Esposas means "wives", but in the police sense, it also means "Handcuffs"... hmmm... I wonder if there's any similarity there? Wives= you're handcuffed? Just kidding.

and it means too handcuffs
