Would you let a horse try to mount you? Would you let a gorilla try to seduce you? Then why would you let a dog try it?
Who cares WHY he's doing it - stop letting him do it right now! Every time he tries it knee him as hard as you can in the chest. Kick the guts out of him if you have to. I love dogs and I am pro-dog, so don't think I'm cruel, but if a dog ever tried that on me it wouldn't be walking for a few days. How utterly disgusting. Get it neutered and kick the guts out of it if it keep trying. Yuk.

This is a training issue. Dogs mount 99% of the time to show that they are dominant over you. The other 1% is sexual urge.
For some reason the dog believes that he has a higher status than you in the home, and he is blantantly telling you so.
You need to start telling him NO, and making him get off when he starts. I would also recommend enrolling in obedience training so that you can re-establishi your role as the pack leader of your home.

A neutered dog may still display mounting behavior but not as much. If you get him neutered he will live longer and be happier. This may sound paradoxical, but consider that a domesticated male dog that is not neutered will probably have sex only once or twice in its WHOLE LIFE (if it's lucky)-- but every time it smells a female dog in heat it will try to run away. If it does run away it may fight with other dogs and get seriously injured or get hit by a car. Even dogs that are very old who are not neutered will try to get out of the yard if they smell a female dog in heat. And will they get an opportunity for sex? Not terribly likely.
If you get your dog neutered he will be a lot happier and he won't keep trying to hump your leg.
My 5-year-old Jack Russell/mini pin mix still tries to mount things (not me, thankfully) once in awhile; I just tell him "no, stop that!" and he will stop. Your dog is eager to earn your praise, so make sure he knows what is acceptable behavior and what isn't.

learn how to be the pack leader and try to understand dog behavior. dogs don't think like humans. assert your dominace over
him by firmly saying no. then take your knees and push him off
so he gets the message that this is not good behavior. This will
be an everyday project until he fully understands that your not
going to tolerate this behavior. next get him neutered, those male
hormones play a role in dominance, it'll take a few months for
his hormone levels to taper off after hes neutered but if you start
working with him now you'll have a head start on him.
