after 3 months of using the vista beta(buid 5600) i would be intrested in any other users opinion on the beta
i have found it needs at least a gb of ram to run smoothly allthough it states 512mb,i found it too sluggish with that amount of ram
another sticky point is the graphics,as you need a card with pixel and shader model 2.0 so i had to buy a quick upgrade so i went for a nvidia ge-force 6200 which cost me £45
i have started a group on yahoo groups for answers and questions so i thought i would plug it while i ask this question
anyway,i would love to hear other peoples opinion on vista so i look forward to hearing them

I used RC1, and I found out that not only Memory (1 Gigg is better) video card with accelerator is a must. Otherwise, Aero will not work. Besides, there's a lot of applications that won't work at all. You have to call on Compatiblity software from Vista, to get some work (may be not). Not mentioning about Printers. All in Ones won't work!
In my opinion, it's not worth it! It won't be a "revolution" like the case of Win 95 and Win 3.1. OS is just a "home", Applications are real "furnitures" that you use every day! So stay with XP

i think should be in beta for another 4-5 years. that should take care of all the nonsense (not bugs) they crammed into it, and give time to the hardware to grow around it.

the only happy people about vista are the professionals that can afford to buy 64bit software, and I don't know a great many of them....
