Every time a Pagan asks a question it's always loaded with answers that are preaching that we are wrong believing in our beliefs. If Christians are taught to love everyone, they definetly don't follow it!

I'm not labeling the whole group... I just want to know why some feel it's okay to belittle someone else's beliefs.

You can't confuse love with righteous judgement or tolerance. Love does not equal tolerance and the lack of tolerence does not equal hate. Christianity, whether Christians want to believe this or not, is not a tolerant religion. It can't be. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life, no one get's to the Father except through me." That very statement is intolerant. It excludes all religions and beliefs, but that doesn't mean that neither He nor God did not love people who did not believe in them. These people were often the people Jesus preached to, not the "righteous" believers. I can go into a whole "thing" about tolerance and Christianity, but I will stay focused on your question/statement.

You have heard the verse "judge not lest ye be judged". But,
the world often takes this verse out of context and uses it to accuse Christians of being "judgmental" when they speak of sin. In the context of the verse Jesus is telling His disciples not to judge one another, something the Bible condemns (Romans 14:10; James 4:11). In Luke 6:41,42 He speaks of seeing a speck in a brother’s eye. In John 7:24 He said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." If someone steals, lies, commits adultery or murder, etc., the Christian can make a (righteous) moral judgment and say that the actions were morally wrong, and that these sins will have eternal consequences. Chuck Colson said, "True tolerance is not a total lack of judgment. It’s knowing what should be tolerated—and refusing to tolerate that which shouldn’t."

So the Christian is not "judging others" but simply telling the world of God’s judgment —that God (not the Christian) has judged all the world as being guilty before Him (Romans 3:19,23). Jesus was able to offer that woman forgiveness for her sin, because He was on His way to die on the cross for her. She acknowledged Him as "Lord," but He still told her, "Go, and sin no more." If she didn’t repent, she would perish.

Edit **

Belittling someone is one thing and I don't condone it when it comes to a conversation that promotes understanding and explanations. But, explaining your view-point and why as a Christian you believe that being a Wiccan, for example, is wrong is another.

You are asking the wrong "Christians". Sounds like the people you are talking to aren't following their own true advise. You are labeling an entire large group of people based on what just a few people have done. That's not right either. Find some real Christians and ask them some questions.

Have a great day, and I hope that you find the answers that you are looking for.

According to the bible there is only one truth and one way to God. Problem is look how many churches there are and how many different Christian doctrines and beliefs and they all contradict each other.

If you want to see how hypocritical they are watch them judge others even other Christians who believe something different. For example southern Baptists believe that once saved always saved and Baptism is not necessary for salvation and will readily tell other Christians who believe you can fall from grace or that baptism is essential for salvation they will go to hell because they are not following God's will;, but you let those people they condemn say and thing about how wrong the are, these Baptists will be the first to tell those other Christians we are not to judge lest we be judged. It is oaky for them to condemn and judge others but not okay for others to judge or condemn their beliefs.

Now there are some Christians who love and show love and compassion but it seems the judgmental hateful ones speak the loudest so you hear them the most.

I am just glad I am no longer christian. I am happier in Wicca.

There is such a doulbe standard about Christians. Christians are wrong for expressing their belief in God because it may offend others but nobody is worried about offending Christians. Even your question title is a major stereotype.

Christians are taught to not be judgemental, and some just fail to do so. I believe that is true of most religions. But people are just trying to do their best.

If everyone practiced any of the major religions faithfully, and the way they are meant to be practiced, it would be a better world. It is those few extremists, and misguided souls that ruin it for the rest of us.

I do agree, truthfully, and i'm a loyal christian. The truth is, I believe there is a sure brightline among speakme over whatever with any individual, and forcing it on them. Also, he don't have been harsh, you are proper, it is unchristian. I used to be agnostic as soon as, so I know the way it's to be driven into christianity, and so I know the way it feels whilst any individual like that comes alongside. Anyway, do not permit it get on you. If he insulted you, then are aware of it wasn't within the title of the church, despite the fact that he concept it used to be. 'Nurture, do not Punish' must consistently be a rule of thumb for christians speakme approximately faith, no less than it's for me. Anyway, sure, I agree he's incorrect. But do are aware of it used to be in well intentions - and recognise that no longer all christians are like that. :)

I was Wiccan, but I recently converted to Catholicism. What I have come to see is that people are afraid of anything they don't know about or understand. So it's just easier to label it bad or evil because then you don't have to deal with it. That fear happens one of three ways, one they bury their head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist. Two they attack you because something they don't understand a thing about could potentially shatter everything they've ever thought or believed. And three they educate themselves about it and form an educated opinion. Those that educate themselves on other religions usually show more respect for others, because they may not totally agree but they can see where the person is coming from and respect them for it. We should all be educated.

I often get mistaken for a Christian and often get thumbs downs for that!

I have learnt that Christians aren’t the worst beasts out there. At least they’re predictable, with their Bible quotes.

Non-believers, on the other hand, hold back no punches with their aggression. They are every bit the slave they say they are not - slaves to insatiable rebellion. I feel sorry for any peaceful theist (Pagan included) who gets blasted for no reason.

And don’t let the bad apple Christians get to you. Jesus himself warned us about hypocrites who do many wonders in his name. Jesus would disown such people.

I wish I could write all day. Take care and keep searching for good questions and keep writing good ones too and I wish you a sane and fun trip in Yahoo.

Funny, but the same is true in reverse. When a Christian asks a question, athiests and Pagans fill up the answers with words of hate saying that our beliefs are wrong.

It really is not the religion ,,,

It is the Church. and there is a big difference. the religion teaches peace and kindness.

the church uses the religion to make money. and if people are free to think what they want to then they will begin to question. and questions are the arch enemy of Cults. when people question it means that they do not believe Exactly what they are being told, and this could lead to a mass Exodus from the churches of the big 3.

so to keep this from happening they use doctrine and brainwashing to make people believe that anything that someone else believes is Satan tempting them. and encourage the fanatical behavior that we see here.
