This is why I do not eat spicy food. I do not want my rear end burning and I do not want a runny nose.

I have the same problem. The spice opens the sinuses and drains them, hence the runny nose.

It's called Capsaicin. It's the chemical compound in peppers that makes them hot. If you happen to get a nice whiff of if it makes your nose run or you sneeze. Thus the pun in cartoons and movies where someone douses another person with pepper and they sneeze. It also has some medical uses. Here is a Wiki artical about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsaicin

to respond to your unique question, i have got here across that quite spiced food doesn't quite worsen a sore throat, yet do not over do it. eat it reasonably. quite spiced food also enables sparkling up conjestion. also, for belongings you should drink with a sore throat, i'd recommend any yea, or especially a lot any warm beverage. the nice and cozy temperature soothes it. Likewise, something with diet c (apple juice, orange juice) will soothe it besides. strong success!
