No.
Your biggest chance of developing varicose veins is if your mother had them.
Standing for long periods at work is another good way to come by them.
Pregnancy doesn't help if you're prone to them, but won't cause them if you're not, unless you're pregnant and standing a lot!
I crossed my legs all the time, and have three babies, but no veins.
Plenty of walking helps, and lovely support stockings!

I'm not sure if you can get varicose veins by crossing your legs, but I can tell you that I have small spider veins in the areas of my legs where my calves cross. The patch of spider viens is in a circle shape and it falls directly where my knee would be when I cross my legs, on both legs. I asked my family doctor about it and he said that constant crossing of your legs can cause poor circulation and some trauma to the skin. So, perhaps why the came out. If that is not the case, it is strange coincidence.

You get varicose veins when the blood in your veins dos not flow freely. This can be coursed because of fault valves in the veins, which you may have inherited a tendency to from parents. Sitting crossleged or folding your legs can make this worse.
But people who do not sit crossleged but stand a lot also get them. I got mine after I had my first baby.

Arteries carry blood from your heart to the rest of your tissues, and then your veins return blood from the rest of your body through one-way valves to your heart, so the blood can’t flow backwards but is carried to your heart where it can be recirculated.
Diseases veins, however, have weakened valves, which allows blood to flow backward and pool inside the veins. This leads to a build-up of pressure inside the veins, resulting in venous disease.
The problem is, as you get older, your veins can lose elasticity causing them to stretch. That can make the valves in your veins weak. Blood pools in your veins, and your veins enlarge and become varicose. They appear blue because they contain deoxygenated blood – it’s still in the process of being recirculated through the lungs. You’re also at higher risk for varicose veins if you have a family history of the problem.

You can get varicose veins by doing this but also from standing for long periods. They are easily treated by injections.

I think it comes from standing or walking on a hard surface for long periods of time(concrete floors)without good foot protection. It's important to wear shoes with good shock absorption. They help with your knees too and circulation too.
