for one thing you can send her something like nightwear for the hospital after she gives birth and a baby blanket for the newborn to come home from the hospital. my birthday is the 17th too.

If u don't know what she is having, I would send her some
really cute outfit, that can go either way. Along with a good picture of the two of you in a frame saying sisters
Could ask Mom for her baby picture and get one of those
double frames and put her baby picture in one side and
a note in the other frame saying to put her baby's pic
in the other. This stuff always brings tears to there eyes.
It's one gift noone else can give!

Is she into scrapbooking? They have some beautiful ones for babies. Does she have a digital camera to take plenty of photo's.? or you can send her essentials like singlets, all in ones, in two sizes 0000 and 000. All in different colours, if ya know the sex of bubs, that is good, if not stick to whites, lemons and pale greens. Bunny Rugs, Cot mobiles, Roof Mobiles, Photo Frames,
Activity Mat. Vibrating baby bouncer (excellent for new borns)Teddy Bears, Wall hangings for nursery wall.
For her birthday, get a voucher for her to go and have a spa, massage and facial. She will love it.
Hope you get to see mum and baby soon.
Good Luck.

My suggestions for sis are: pria bars, massage oil, squishy house-socks, oversized jammies with a drawstring waist, a book or magazine she'd like to read (not about babies) and of course, a card. Mom needs special attention, just for her, when having her birthday is so close to baby delivery.
For baby, a card, and some sort of keepsake; Something she will not 'use and toss' like rattle, frame, baby ring, religious items -- something inscribed is nice.

when you're expecting all the attention is on the baby, so if you wanted to make her feel really special. do buy something for the baby, like a layette or a special outfit, but make your sisters gift much more special. A good one is to find a local Nail shop in her area and get her a gift certificate for a pedicure/manicure. she'll welcome the time off after the baby is born

A yellow layette gift set would be nice, along with diapers, wash cloths, wipes, etc., also a gift card from Visa that you can get from a bank..
A birthday card letting her know yo miss you and that you are happy for her and the baby.

Things that would help her out the most would be extra help when the new bundle arrives. Diapers and wipes are always good but don't forget the things that she likes. She needs to be pampered too!!
