Christians do not have a "thing" as you put it for young boys. But the priests on the other hand have been caught with there "pants down" so to speak more often than not. We need to pray for those mis guided people. They are only following the flesh and not living through the spirit.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

I'm christian, but I don't have "a thing" for young boys. I don't even have a son, or I could say that I love my son.. to say all Christians have this tendency is not only very shallow of you, but it also shows your lack of intellect.
It's like saying a duck is white, quacks and has webbed feet. So you are leaving out mallards along with an unkown number of other species of ducks just because you think all ducks are white. See the flaw in your logic? Just because it's white, waddles and quacks doesn't mean it's a duck. Same as us christians. Don't lump us together and put us all in a group where we don't belong.

They don't. Unthinking persons allow themselves to be duped by the secular press. In fact, the percentage of clergymen who commit homosexual acts with adolescent boys is just about the same as the percentage of men in the general population. That isn't something to rejoice about, but it is the truth. The secular press however puts every case involving a Catholic priest on the front page, whereas most of the cases involving teachers, guidance counselors, youth ministers, rabbis, etc. (not to mention grandparents and mom's boyfried) don't sell newspapers, so they get two lines on page 26, or simply are not reported at all.
There is more to it than just selling papers though. The secular press is rabidly liberal, giving full support to abortion, homosexuality, recreational sex, and all of their related evils. That's why they consistently refer to sexual acts against teenage boys by priests as "pedophilia", a term everyone despises, instead of what it really is - homosexuality. Therefore the press grabs every possible opportunity to discredit the only real opponent it considers a threat, the one Church which fearlessly preaches the fullness of truth, and will not bend to the whims of an increasingly pagan society.

If the enemy can bring down a Shepherd then he usually can take a lot of sheep with him.
I also think that a church that goes against God's desire for man to marry and have a family is wrong. Most of the old and new gospel leaders/heros were married and you never once hear God tell them they are doing wrong.
Paul stated his opinion, not biblical law or doctrine. Paul didn't think it was fair for him to be married and never be around for his spouse. But ministers today aren't in the situation he was in and they can be married and not trying to ignore the God given desire of physical intimacy with a partner by their side.
So when you take that sex drive that is a natural gift and try to repress it, then it just comes out in perverse ways.

That's kind of like someone asking, "Why do Muslims in general, and the clergy in particular, have 'a thing' for killing people who offend them?" Which may have been the point of the question: all religions can be misunderstood because of the unfortunate behaviour of very few of their believers.

First of all if you have done your research then you would know that people of all religions have been accused of abusing boys and girls and that of all religions it was the Catholic churches that had boys abused most compared to other churches or denominations. But again all people no matter their race, size, orgin, or religion have been so twisted to do such a thing.

I don't think its a Christian thing, exactly
I do think attraction to the powerless (minors) is a seeking of power and control by people in powerless positions (priests, etc)
You take away a man's human right to be sexual and that energy is going to go to some bad end: such as abuse of those more powerless even than you.

Why do you speak in such generalities? There have been many public cases brought against Catholic clergy, however, there are many more cases of abuse unreported because they are not so political in nature. These cases have no barring on religion and perhaps that's why we don't hear about them.

Some clerics are required to take a vow of celibacy and this repression of their urges leads them to develop unorthodox sexual tastes. Funnily enough very few if any Buddhist monks who also take vows of celibacy engage in sexual immorality.
