If you truly love him and don't want to break up- forgive and forget is the best policy. He has put his best foot forward and I'd be willing to bet that the fault doesn't just lie with him. It takes two to tango-- or argue in this case.

If it was over silly little things and he apologized then what's the problem? Forgive him and move on. Trust me there'll be a lot worse things that will happen and he was man enough to admit he was wrong.
