make sure to change your styleing products to none sticky and non flakly products. They can be what is flaking up. You can use a few table spoons of dry table salt and massage onto your dry hair.(it works) and than wash your hair with a deep conditioner and shampoo. Try not to wash your hair as much and keep a all day condtioner in your hair.

It's because your scalp is dry. It's very hard to hydrate the skin there.
A long time ago, I had a little drandruff problem. I got a treatment done at a salon. They applied an Aveda product, I had to sit under a heat lamp, and they washed it out.
It wasn't something that was sold over the counter, a licensed cosmotologist had to apply it.

Make a paste by grinding fenugreek seeds with water. Massage on the scalp after oiling the hair and leave it for one hour before washing. Repeat it every morning for a month.

Selsun Blue is the best thing you can use. Just use it about two to three times a week, on the other days use head & shoulders, you should be good after using the selsun blue though. good luck about the flakes!

Try Neutrogena's T-Gel. You might need to give your scalp a break from using the blow dryer and all those styling products.

i'm using head and shoulders and it works for me but the only problem is that it is somewhat harsh to already thinning hair..
H&S has zinc pyrithione as its active ingredient which i have learned is good for your hair..
SUNSILK antidandruff is a LOT better bet as it makes hair much softer and silky but is not as effective at dandruff as H&S...
i'm not sure about blow-drying.. it somehow apparently doesnt suit me..
