GEL is the best product to use for a wet look. Put it in the hair while wet, style, and let air dry.

Since your hair is straight, it would be hard to make it "wet curly". You can make it curly by using a spiral curling iron, but you won't get that "wet look".
When I had a spiral perm, I "scrunched" in gel or mousse when my hair was still wet. When my hair dried, it still looked wet.

I wash my hair, put regular/ not leave in/ conditioner in it & let it air dry... when you say permed, I assume you mean "relaxed" if it's strait. I also use relaxer on my hair; and I naturally have really coarse thick hair, but that works for me well. Your hair sounds like it more fine than mine, so it should work really well for you.

Take a shower at night. Part your hair into sections and braid them. Wake up in the morning, take it out. Use gel (bed head-Creative genious), and don't blow dry. Works really well.

Take a shower before you leave the house and don't dry your hair.
