Yes, he is too old..the ear cartilage has set, so it will not stand, but just be floppy, skinny ears if they are cropped. You won't find a vet that will do either procedure on a dog of that age..The latest that the ears will stand is 13 weeks...
I used to breed Dobermans, and I quit, because I couldn't stand to continue mutilating these beautiful babies!
Natural min pins are adorable!

Tails should have been done when they were about 3 days old. To have them done when they are 8 months old will be very traumatic for them and could injure the spine. It will also be very expensive. The ears can be done at this age, but why do the ears and tails. Let them stay natural. You will pay big bucks to have the ears and tails done and for what? A look. Plus why put the dog thru all that?

He is way too old. Tails should be docked at 2-3 days old and ears are to be cropped around 10-14 weeks. His ear cartilage has already hardened and cropping isn't going to make them stand. Removing the tail now is very painful for the dog.

Why didn't this get done by the breeder or at an earlier age? I wouldn't crop/dock anyways, but certainly not at 8 months of age. This is a VERY painful surgery for only cosmetic reasons. Leave your min pin to go au natural and save him from the pain.
Technically, the answer to your question is no, it is not too late for these surgeries to be performed.

yes...at least for the tail...that needs to be done a couple days after birth....ears however can still be done but if you are not going to show the dog I would not worry...that can be expensive and really does nothing except make the dogs look differant. also if you wait to long on the ears the cartilage will already be developed to fold so the ears will not stand as erect as the would if done when the pups were still young. Not worth it in my mind...

Well actully never is late to cut the tail and about the ears I think is better to do it at 3 or 4 months...if you do it at this age(8) you would get both or one ear down....

yes, if it's not done by 10 weeks at the LATEST, it's too old for it. Doing it at this age is cruel. If you want to know for sure, find a vet who does this cosmetic operation and ask them.

I would say yes...at least for the tail for sure...Boxers are docked at 3-6 days after being born...keep in mind...this is like getting your arm cut off...it is a limb...so it will hurt, BAD.

I am not against it...have you ever felt a boxer tail whap you...it hurts!!!

I don't know about the ears...call your vet

No,it's not too old but since it wasn't done BY THE BREEDER when it was only DAYS old...it's obviously JUST *PET* quality & NOT worth the bother & expense.

Get it done,if you still want to waste the money,WHEN IT'S ***NEUTERED***!!!!
