I am starting to get an ear ache... I noticed when I was Q-tipping my ears (as usual) after a shower... it felt sore... and my throat is getting a little sore too... but I snore pretty strong so that could be it... but my QUESTION is what would work better for pain? Ibuprofin or Exedrin? Or maybe Tylenol? I don't have insurance and I just want to get through the pain at least! So, any help on what I can do or what I can take for it! Thanks for any help!
And YES I know, GO TO THE DR. ... so BESIDES THAT. THANKS.

I love Excedrin. It has ibuprofin and acemphatamine (spelling?) basically it's like taking Tylenol and Ibuprofin because it has the same ingredients as both of those combined. I use it for migraines, muscle aches, headaches, you name the pain, I use excedrin for it.

Mushroom thinks Wonder should get a second opinion. Nothing is wrong with Wonder. Wonder is only ailed by doctor trying to foist upon her Exedrin, 87 gallons of Cranberry juice and a shot to the head. Does he not know that a shot should go straight down the gullet? A shot of what does he recommend? Whiskey? Tequilla? Don't let no crazy bad doctor half drown you in cranberry juice and a crazy drug and a shot of tequilla. Wonder deserves better! Get a second opinion. There is no ailment, only in doctor's crazy head!

First, you should never use q-tips. They upset the membrane of the ear. Using them repeatedly will eventually cause severe problems.
You can cure that earache by pouring a few drops of alcohol in it 2 to 3 times a day for a week. My family has used that method for curing swimmers ear and at the first sign of any ear aches for years. Before we started using alcohol in our ears, we were constantly fighting ear infections.
Ibuprofen is the greatest general pain relief I've ever found.
I hope you feel better soon.

This is my opinion only. The last time I had a ear ache I went to the pharmacy and picked up a over the counter medicine for the ear that reduces the pain quite well. I wish I could remember the name, but I am sorry I can not. Try going to your local pharmacy and see what is available for pain in the ear.

#1, as it states right on the box of Q-tips, do not use in ears. #2. Oitis media is not something that can be put off as getting better by itself.. If you are not going to see a doctor, at least start gargling with a salt water peparation, several times a day.

I would use Excedrin for the pain and for your ear pain try a heating pad which will help. Also since you do not have health insurance there are usually low or no cost free clinics. call you local hospitals and ask what clinics are available in your area. Hope you are feeling better soon.

if your getting sick i think your better off taking tylenol, it tends to work better when your getting a cold etc. Ibuprofen is good for headaches, muscle aches, and cramps. Excredrin tends to work better with headaches and all over aches. got to your pharmacy otherwise and ask your pharmacist what over the counter meds he would recommend! personally though, i would go for Tylenol!
feel better!
