Out of all of the world religions -- Hinduism, Islam, Bahai, Satanism, Wiccan, Judaism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Mormonism, New Age, etc. -- and all of the religious books of the world -- the Bible, the Koran, the book of Vishnu, Egyptian Book of the Dead, etc. -- and all of the gods/Gods of those religions -- Confuscious, Jehovah, Allah, Seth, Buddha, etc. -- Why does Jesus merit such hostile commentary and criticism? Why does the Bible receive such scrutiny, challenge and resistance? Why does Christianity receive such angry focus and disdain from so many different sources for many centuries? Personally, I believe it's the Football Principle: a lot of contact on the field during the game (speaking of religion in general), but it's the one with the ball who gets the most attention and resistance. What do you think?

Not to worry. It's just the prophecy of God coming to pass.

Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

I think it is because the fundamentalistic christians are so aggressive towards all the other belief systems, and when you have a look into this forum, you can see what I mean.

You can ask a serious question about a religious question (why did Jesus do this or say that, and how is it proven, or is it proven at all, etc.) then you will get drowned in all Bible-quotes by their followers.
They have no prove of anything, they have no reasonable arguments, all they have is their book. They say the prove is: it is the Bible.

That is just as if I would say "I am the most intelligent person on Earth, and prove is: because I say so".

No other religion is like that. Well, maybe the other abrahamics as well (jewish and muslims), but in my opinion they all worship the same god (Jehova, or Jachweh, or Yaweh), so they are kind of related.

And now (somebody mentioned it here already) christians fundis are eliminating science from american schools.
The US educational (school) system is already very bad, their education is hilarious compared to asian or european standard (I am German), and there must be a reason that authorities want dumb people. They are more easily doing what they have been told to, I think.

And they are constantly on a mission. They have actually invaded and killed uncountable people through the last millenia, remember? Monotheists are extremely aggressive, and I guess therefore the sparks are flying.

Have you ever watched two pagans fight about who is better/mightier/more powerfull/more true (etc), Odin or Tyr, or Gaia, or Isis, or Hekate, or Thor? You will never find such a scene, it just does not happen. We are not fighting about whose god is more powerful, because that is just too idiotic and stupid. Everyone's personal god is most powerful to that certain individual, and that is the end of it. When Odin is most powerful to you (or Buddha, or Thor, or who-ever...), then that is just fine with me. To me it is Hekate and Frau Holle, but that is just my personal choice.

Also, I don't think Buddhists or Hindus are on a mission either, therefore they have no aggression against the other followers, and therefore are not creating this tension. Only the three abrahamics keep that up. Only they think they must dominate the world and force their religion on the other people, and that is of course causing the tensions and sparks to fly.

And isn't it fun to read these simple people's statements about why the Bible is true??? (Because it is the bible, therefore it must be true, duh!)

Yes, it is very funny, and I admit, I come here for entertainment.

Some attackers are undoubtably motivated by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

The Bible says that just before the time of the end, The Beats (World Nations) would turn and devour Babylon (Organized Religion). So, the destruction of religion is to be expected, perhaps, even desired, as you know they time has come for Armageddon.

Not Christ, his fan club.

Take a look--if someone so much as posts a question about Islam, Wicca, atheism, etc., some Jackass for Christ horns in with "You're going to hell and need to be saved!" with Bible verses. Jackasses for Christ have also accused Wiccans here of being unfit parents, spread homophobic rhetoric, and tried to get people they don't agree with kicked off YA.

In short, many of the attacks are *counter* attacks.

One of the most annoying things about paranoia is the way in which it sets you up to be the center of your own universe, believing that everyone else pays more attention to you than anyone else. You're exhibiting a classic symptom. Find a ladder and climb it so you can see the bigger picture. Es gibt kein Gott.

Actually I'd say Islam is the one getting the most stick at the moment, but it's blindingly obvious really - most western countries are Christian countries traditionally, although most are majorly secular....So if you're in a Christian country, speaking to Christians....And Christianity is the religion you hear about the most...Then what religion do you think you would focus on??

nicely, any time that a collection (ethnic, religious, in spite of) has had particular privileges or a privileged place in a society after it is asked to renounce their advantages, it sounds like persecution. many times, those privileged people could be *compelled* to renounce their particular privileges... this isn't any longer persecution, in spite of the undeniable fact that it feels that thank you to them. basically like a single baby whose mothers and dads have yet another baby after the 1st has basked in the undivided interest of his/her mothers and dads for a protracted time. this is complicated to renounce having each and every thing your man or woman way. you desire issues to proceed the way that they have been. you desire your mothers and dads to proceed to offer your man or woman needs and desires suitable precedence. And while there is conflict between you and the greater youthful baby, and your mothers and dads insist that your sibling has a similar rights which you have, this is totally possibly which you will journey this as your mothers and dads "taking the ingredient" of the greater youthful sibling. this is possibly which you will experience persecuted or abused. for sure, that may no longer authentic, the two. and a few older siblings never recover from their infantile resentment approximately this, and could spend rather some time with different older siblings discussing how undesirable all of it is they could have "fairness" as a factor of their existence; that they are not getting to have issues their own way anymore. and that they'll in many situations epress their resentment in terms of ways "stupd" their youthful siblings are...

Jesus basically said that the world would hate us. Of course not all non-Christians hate us, but there have always been and always will be those who do, unfortunately.
I find it's not easy to be a follower of Christ, but always worth it! When Jesus was on earth, He taught some pretty amazing things, but the principles He taught were somewhat backwards from the world's way of doing things. For example, love your ememies. How many people really want to try to love their enemies?

Your theory is correct. The church who is "holding the ball" generally receives the most attention and resistance.

So...was your church driven from place to place until they were forced to leave the "land of the free" to settle in the independent territory of Utah? Were your leaders killed, were the women raped and the homes burned by good, American "Christians"? Are your good, law-abiding members looked upon with ridicule by mainstream "christianity" and called a "cult"?

Just wondering...

Don't assume your church has received the worst persecution. Not by a long shot.

Because some so-called Christians have done evil in the sight of God and people naturally believe that "if it sounds like a duck and looks like a duck, then..."

I also think it has to do with the fact that homosexuality is forbidden as well

And, yes, I'm a Christian.
