How prevelant is Wi-Fi in Thailand. When I drive around the US there is Wi-Fi almost everywhere, is Thailand the same way? Do most people have highspeed?

There are lots of wifi hot spots in central Bangkok, some chains have been mentioned already but I'll add the coffee shop chain Au Bon Pan. I think that a lot of the Big C supermarket stores have wifi. too. Also, I have seen that True themselves, one of the wifi/telecoms providers, have some coffee shops too which, not surprisingly are well kitted out with wifi and other tech stuff. I used the wifi in the True coffee in Siam Square and I've seen another one near Patpong. There are probably some other True coffe shops too.

Some of the ratings previous answers to this question have been getting seem kinda weird to me. There's a good answer that's picked up a thumbs down and a poor one that's got a thumbs up. So whoever's got it in for saying that we've got a reasonable level of wifi, at least in Bangkok if not in Thailand as a whole, feel free to give me a thumbs down.

High speed here (in Thailand), yes. Wi-fi not readily available, unlike Singapore (as an example).
