It's just their way of trying to intimidate and control people -- if they don't get their way (by getting you to go their church, brain-washing you, and getting lots of your $$$), then they usually use that as retaliation.

Very funny how they profess to have the love of christ, and then they love to take the knife and twist in your back, isn't it? Hypocrites!

Its not an assumption. It is based on the fact that Christ says "I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through me."
The question comes down to whether Christ is God's son or just a crazy man. Calling him a prophet is just nonsense. And by looking at all the different miracles he has done that even non-christian Romans admitted to in the Roman records and the how the disciples lives changed dramatically after Christs reserection, the only conclusion I can come to is that Christ is who he says He is. THe disciples would not have died and been tortured for something they knew was a lie.

Yes. Statements like that are not only wild assumptions, but wild A$$ assumptions. I personally don't believe that, and so I just ignore it. I'd advise you to do the same, because it's bad for the blood pressure. Your faith is your own personal business, and no one has the right to tell you things that are products of their own twisted minds.

i understand how this can be a bit disturbing. however, it is merely a reference to how the soul will suffer immensely if you are not a Believer. but, all i can offer you today is this: if you truly do not believe in God, and all the many aspects of God, be firm in that and don't worry yourself with puking the disgust of what Believers hold to be true. just as you pride yourself on the corruption and distortion of the Word, many Beleivers are prepared to battle those with the same contempt. and a Battle it shall be. so, no need to stir up the mess. just go with what you know: christ... what christ? hell... what hell? burn... hey what's that smell? ... is that my flesh???? ;-o

peace & blessing.

Maybe. But what if what you believe is a "wild assumption". Better get out the aloe and burn cream.

It's not an assumption, it's in the word. Also, I'd much rather walk the so called "straight line", then the crooked one where one would perish.

I shake my head. Intolerance, bigotry, superiority in the form of a "holier than thou" religion.

This is so incredibly sad that I'm thinking of leaving this site all together. Although it has been an educational eye-opener when it comes to people's ideas concerning spirituality and religion, the level of intolerance, hatred and bigotry makes me think that humanity is a failed experiment.

Time for me to go before I become totally depressed with the human race.

No, it only make me sad for the ones who don't believe in Christ. His salvation is a free gift, you can't buy your way into heaven, but if you do go to hell it has been your choice. I'm sorry if you disagree, but again it's your decision. I hope you can find the TRUTH!

Oh but we won't burn unless it's in a house fire or by falling into a volcano or spontaneous combustion or we get cremated or commit suicide by immolation or an outer space accident, falling into the Sun or we get rear-ended and the contents of the gas tank sploosh into the passenger compartment while we're smoking, nuclear holocaust maybe......
