No God of love would punish anyone forever in the most cruel and inhumane of ways such as burning a person in a lake of fire and brimstone throughout eternity. I dont think a person as evil as Hitler or Binladen has done anything bad enough to warrant eternal punishment. Do all muslims and buddhists go to hell just for sharing a different belief system. How about severly retarded people or sociopaths or people who are incapable of comprehending Christ? I just love the Christians who try to threaten me into believing in Christ by saying I will burn in hell if I dont. How could I love a God like that anyways?

The Lake of Fire spoken of in the Bible is a place of eternal separation from God. If you choose to separate yourself from Him in life.... why should you even want to be with Him in eternity.

You are reaping what you sow... Law of the Harvest

Honestly, there is something about an otherwise good person being condemned to eternal torment simply because he or she did not get saved, go to church, or believe in the "right" belief system. Is it really just to think that a person could die, get up to the Judgement, and hear God say, "You were good person, and I think you accomplished a lot in your life, but I'm afriad I can't let you in. If you had JUST been a Baptist/Methodist/Church of Christ/etc., you would have been able to come in. But since you were not, I'm afriad you must go to the Lake of Fire. Sorry."

God will not make this happen. It happens on it's own. GOD, however, will pick those who are pure and take them away from it all. If you're not pure you don't go, you have to stay.

Let's try a real world example. Nuclear war starts and every missles goes off.

We establish underground bunkers and take in survivors who are not contaminated.

Contanimnated people, spread their contanimation to others and they will die in a matter of weeks. All it does is put a burden on all the pure people.

So, doctors, soldiers and government will cast out contaminated people back to the scourced Earth and only let in those whose radiation levels (REM levels) are low enough to treat.

Get the point.

God has a book of life and you are in it or you are not. If you're not you go back out to the scourched Earth that God didn't create. Man or natural disaster created it. It was not God waving a hand and saying let there be lakes of fire.

Now, go get into your car and pollute the Earth some more and make the atmosphere and oxygen go away and put more greenhouse gasses into the air.

If you develop a lung condition from all that pollution, don't expect to be amitted to a facility where pure people with no diseases are seeking shleter from the ills of the air that man made happen with his love of the car!

I haven't owned a car in 37 years! Do expect ME to share my Oxygen supply with YOU if YOU are out polluting the air everyone breathes!

I imagine you think of yourself as generally a good person, but by who's standards? Yours or God's?

Have you ever told a lie?
Have you ever stolen anything even if it's small?
Jesus says if you even look lustfully at a women you've committed adultery in your own heart. Have you ever done that?

Just take a look at the ten commandments and see how well you'll do when you're put on trial on the day of judgement.

What are you going to say to Him? "Well God I know I've done all these bad things but I know you're a good God an you'll just look over it all and let me into your kingdom."

Let's look at a similar example. A rapist goes in front of a judge for the atrocity he has committed. He is found guilty before the court, but before the judge can pass sentence the defendant asks to say a few words to the judge. The judge agrees and the rapist tells the judge "I know what I did was wrong but Judge I know you're a good man so you'll look past my offense and let me move on with my life." The Judge turns to the rapist and says "well you're right about one thing, I AM a good man. And because I'm good i'm going to see that justice is done."

God IS GOOD! Because of His goodness He has the obligation to punish sin where ever and whenever it is found.

In all honesty, we all fall short of the perfect life God has set for us to lead. We are ALL guilty before the law. The Good news is that Jesus came into the world not to condemn the world but to save it! By His sacrifice we are saved from our otherwise certain fate.

Back to that court room analogy, it's like right before the judge passes his sentence, His lawyer walks up to the cop and asked that he be put to death instead of his defendant. The lawyer obviously did nothing wrong, but out his perfect love, he makes the sacrifice.

Jesus gave his Life for you that you might be free from death and the grave. He offers you new life! All you have to do is accept it.

Grace and peace be upon you from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ!!

I'm sure that Jay Z guy is going to have fun with you on this one. He bashed me and jumped to all kinds of conclusions when I ask a similar question. I said the word of God was flawed meaning bible that have been writ en by men and he thought I was talking God himself. He thought when I said that the thought of the process of going to hell being evil was me calling God evil. However... don't let what you hear about turn you against finding out what (if there is a God) God is really about. Seek the answers for yourself... who is man to tell you what is right and wrong? How can you trust a book that was written by man?

If even Hitler had before he died sincerely repented, he would have been saved. For any person to go to hell it is their own choice, through unbelief. It is our responsibility as Christians to make it an informed choice.
And it is God, not us who decides who shall go or not go.
I rather think we will find many people in Heaven whom we did not expect. God loves them more than you can imagine, he will take them there if it is at all possible. Until we know, it's most loving to call all to the sure way of faith in Jesus.
"for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

People burn in hell forever because the CHOOSE to separate themselves from God. God wants everyone to follow Him, but so many people choose to live their own life or make up a God that makes them feel good about themselves. Everyone deserves to burn in hell forever because we have fallen short of God, it is His free gift that gets us to heaven As for people of different religions, it is what is in our hearts that counts, no one here on earth can judge a person and tell whether he is going to hell or heaven. It is foolishness to talk of this.

I am a "Jesusfreak" as you erroneously put it, BUT I do not think people burn. My gut ( whom I trust ) tells me that we don't "fall" if we are sinners cuz we ALL are. But I do believe that their is truly evil people who just aren't and can't be a child of God, and they are just absorbed into the sun. But I do innately doubt that we are tortured day and night. God can't let u exist if you can't coexist with those of us who ARE good, and try to express our lives for and through Him. He is my life, my dream, my soul. Think outside the globe, God bless.

I never go around telling people they're going to hell.
Being a Christian isn't just about 'fire insurance'.
And I cannot judge what will happen to anyone else.

no human who has sinned (and we all sin) can stand in the preasence of God. God made us to be friends with him but we chose to go our own way and be disobedient to God and to ignore him. we would be destroyed even if we were to look God in the face because of our sins.

yet God still wanted us to be his friends so he gave us the chance to be forgive and come back to him and live in his preasence forever. God loved us so much that he sent Jesus who was both fully human (he had temptation and fear and douts just like us yet he trusted God what ever the concequences) and fully God. he never sinned but bore our sins for us so they can be removed from Gods sight and we can stand in his preasence. jesus said that the only way to God is through him this is how we know that no other god or religion can save us. there are those who call them selves christians who have never accepted jesus as their saviour and the only way to be saved is through believing that jesus died and rose again and to accept him in your life.

God loves you so much that he gave you a chance to come to him and but only those who have jesus in their hearts are saved. jesus is God's gift of love given to us "for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life" jonh ch3 v 16. it is not that we don't deserve to be throne into the lake of fire it is that we have accepted God's gift of love and so been covered with Jesus blood so that our sins are forgiven.

Father God thank you for the gift of your son Jesus thank you that all who believe in him will be saved. Lord i ask that your people who are filled with your spirit would shine for you and would over flow with your love to all those around them that many would see that you are God and be saved i ask that you would fill them with a bold ness and joy and that those who know the truth would over come their fear and share it with others and that you would bless their work by the power of your holy spirit and your love. amen.

may the lord bless you and keep you and may you come to know the truth of his word and his love.
