the bible says magic is wrong...but is also says selling your daughter into slavery is ok.(Exodus 21:7) and the murder of people who dont believe in your "loving" god is also O.K.

also if you claim to be a christian and believe the bible to be fact- then you must believe in magic since the bible tells us saul uses the witch of endor to summon the spirit of samuel.....

Magic is a "abstract" term that has different meanings to different people. Then supposedly there is white magic, gray magic, and black magic. Then there's the degree to which you practice. Perhaps sending alittle love spell to a guy/gal you really think is cute is a whole different act then trying to cast a spell on someone so that they die. The intention would determine the sin. I believe that some people have been given gifts by God, such as psychics, if they use their talent to help the police, to warn you of impending danger, etc. The danger comes in that so many are scam artists, and many people actually start believing that the future is already fated. The whole idea is to give your concerns, prayers, needs, etc. to the Lord. The Bible as already mentioned warns against this kind of craft. In practicing this type of art, sometimes you attract evil spirits and one should be vigilant about this fact. It is nothing to dabble with. Getting back to your question however, it sounds like your intention is experimental, and you are curious. I don't think that would make you hell bound but it could lead you down a path that gets longer and longer and before you know it you're hooked and crooked. Why don't you talk to your pastor about it. Meanwhile be careful, it can be a dangerous road.

The bible tells us that witchcraft is evil. That means performing magic, going to a sorceror, etc.. Now that doesn't mean watching a fictional movie or reading a fictional book, it's talking about actually performing magic. So, if you're performing witchcraft, don't go griping because the bible tells you its evil. If you don't believe, why care? If you do believe in God, but only in the parts you want to believe, that's called magical thinking, but it doesn't have much in common with magic, more like delusion.

As a christian, I'm not gonna tell you you're going to hell, I'm not Jesus, none of us are, and judgment is His domain, not mine. If you choose to believe but not follow what God tells you, that's entirely your problem.

The bible condemns the art of witchcraft, magic and sorcery.
The encyclopedia defines magic as: "Magic/magick and sorcery are the influencing of events, objects, people and physical phenomena by mystical or paranormal means. The terms can also refer to the practices employed by a person to wield this influence, and to beliefs that explain various events and phenomena in such terms."
Now what does the Bible say regarding this?:
"He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore."
(Isaiah 57:2-3)
"And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts." (Malachi 3:5)
"And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts." (Revelation 9:20-21)
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)
"For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
(Revelation 22:15)
