No, the majority of Americans who are obese are obese because they made a choice too, there are plenty of other alternative eateries to go to, they just happen to prefer fast food restaurants. None of them were forced to eat only fast food, it was a choice. Also, why would you want to get rid of fast food restaurants for those who are not obese but enjoy the occassional fast food lunch or dinner.

No, if the restaurants go, the eating habits will still remain. The only thing that may help with America's obesity problem is a hike in prices in all food groups, making it less affordable to eat. Not only that, but the American appetite must decrease, because the "best deal" isn't always the healthiest. Take McDOnald's for example, they fry their foods in hydrogenated oils. Hydrogenated oils (trans fats) never leave the body, they enter the arteries and plasticize (they turn into plastic, literally). If a food says "0g trans fat" it may still contian up to .5 g of trans fats in each serving. The only reason companies (such as Doritos, Taco Bell, and Frito-Lay) get away with this is because of VERY loose USDA guidelines.
If there is any reason to stop eating out, it is the fact that you really don't know what you're eating. Sure we don't really know everything in the food we buy either, but we have a choice in the way we prepare it and if we read the ingredients carefully.

Forcing the fast food restaurants to serve anything but soft drinks, diet included, would be a step forward. The sugar, caffeine, aspertame (artificail sweetener) and carbonation is all bad for the body.
It's not all fried foods that are putting on the weight.
What's wrong with selling bottled water, cranberry juice, or V-8 juice?

No, Americans are obese because of their lack of exercise. We have by choice become more and more sedentary. We are entertained by a host of electronic gadgets that require little or no movement on our parts. We hire people to handle the few mundane tasks households require ( these same tasks that would require us to get up) such as : lawn mowing and housecleaning.
Unfortunately again- obesity is a personal issue, that can not be legislated out of existence, no matter how hard we try.

If people would stop being so greedy when they eat, it

would solve the problem. There are enough diet books

out there so if people really wanted to drop some lbs. they

could. You can even eat healthy at McDonalds; i.e. hamburgers

with no bun, skip the "secret sauce", yogurt parfaits, etc. Just

eat only l,000 calories a day and the weight will drop.

No, most people that are obese are that way because of over-eating and lack of exercise. (There are a FEW with medical problems that cause this). If there were no fast food they would just eat something else.

No definatley not. It isn't just fast food that creates obesity problems. Another thing is that people choose to go to these fast food places and choose what they want to eat so obease people can't just blame fast food they have themselves to blame as well

This is just a concocked ploy by the lawyers to gain from superficial law suits and attack the corperations with the money, all in the name of helpless and unfortinate victims. People will still eat until they bust open all over with flab.
