Try making the mash into patties, and frying them.

It is because children are predisposed to give you a hard way to go, full stop. If mash was bad for you they'd be scooping it up big time. Tell them if they don't eat their mash then that's cool, but you will keep every bit of mash they haven't eaten and they will get it back at Christmas, fashioned into the toy of their choice.

Or else just give them chips and have a peaceful life!

Try adding a little milk, butter and maybe grated cheese. I think the secret to good mash is mashing it really well - when my husband makes mash he mashes for at least 5 minutes and the mash is always smooth and creamy - yummy!!

Its the fat they are addicted to.

If you want to wean them off make horrible chips ( put pepper on them)

Then put a bowlfull of mashed with some chhes baked in it to start with on the table at the same time ( or with ketchup mixed in)

Let them choose but dont cook anything else.

Eventuall they will try and them you wean slowly the amount of cheese or ketchup until they are converted.

i assume by potential of chips you recommend what we call 'french fries'. in case you may shrink them thick and huge and deep fry, you could need what we call steak fries. in the event that they're falling aside organization them up in an ice bathtub, drain and dry them properly. do no longer attempt to place too many contained in the fryer at one time. Or in case you have cooking oil in a sprayer you may bake them and get tremendously first rate steak fries. i think of they make good crisps ( potato chips contained in the US ) besides. Slice them around and extremely skinny. placed them in icy water until eventually they kick back thoroughly, enable them to dry on paper towels, drop them into the fryer and voila..crisps. Russets are maximum suitable baked total and served with butter and bitter cream. Or 'two times baked'..you hollow them out, pass away the jackets intact, use the potato to make a prosperous mashed potato. generally Viscount St. Albans, chives and cheeses are used. yet put in what you like. Bake them until eventually the tops get a sprint goldy shade.they may be frozen. Russets make impressive mashed potato dishes. tremendously in case you whip them with an electric mixer. It freezes very properly too. potato au graten ...and Potato Latke is powerful. ( classic potato pancakes... they freeze properly additionally). provide the peelings to the chickens or placed them on your compost pile. or make a liquor... there is a good number of recipes on line. have exciting!

My daughter prefers mash...altho having said that if they're home made chips (oven cooked) she'd rather eat them than frozen chips. but again having said that if she had the choice she'd blow them all off for chips straight out of the freezer!!!

Yep..my kids hated mash..it wasn't the flavour but the texture..they said it felt slimy in their mouths...try and find alternatives or if they have to have chips...make them ones made in Fry Lite...par boil spuds...coat in Fry Light and pop in over for 30 mins...tasty and no fat.
