I saw bits of this documentary on the news, and I thought it was scary how they had kids bowing to a poster of Bush, sobbing over their sins, speaking in tounges, and falling on the floor shaking. The pastor, Becky Fisher says she wants these kids to feel the same way kids who carry around guns and grenades in Iran feel about their religion. What do you think of this? It scares me.

I have to say, that whoever told me that the kids could have been praying for President Bush and not to him had a really good point. Thank you. I also want to say that I didn't mean to make this question sound like I was lumping all the church camps together. I know this is an example of the minority. I have been to really good church camps too.

For such "liberated minds," it's hard to see how much non-christians seem to be falling for this more than obvious biased documentary.
The entire documentary is intended to show Christians are just as nuts as muslim terrorist. I don't think even the camp that they documented does that much less the rest of Christianity in America.
The producers found the most extreme camp with the least educated woman leading it so they could have a field day splicing words and twisting truth.
For instance, I know there is a scene where they make it appear that the Christian children are praying to George Bush as if he were some kind of God. It is far more likely the kids were being asked to pray FOR George Bush like they would pray for any political leader in the U.S.
Before you start condemning all Christians for "brain washing" their children, try visiting a real Christian camp. You'll find they mostly just do bible studies, sing songs, and play games. Stop buying into this biased trash.

How do you define radical? Is the Bible radical? Is believing it radical? Is living it radical? When you say you saw bits of a documentary and people were bowing to a poster of Bush ...I guess I'd have to see that to believe it. Crying is not always a bad thing. Now, speaking in tongues is a private prayer language...not so different that what pagans have. ...their are many religions in this world that chant or speak in tongues. Falling on the floor and shaking is no more weird that a lot of things people call dancing today. I think Becky Fisher might want these children to feel passionate about God. People express passion in different ways.
What is it that you are passionate about and how do you express it?

As a Christian, I must tell you that this radical church and "Jesus Camp" is nothing like what 'most' Christians believe. It is scary. I can't believe, if it's all true, that they get away with it. It's more like the Waco cult in my opinion. This is 'not' Christianity the way Christ intended it, and it is 'not' what I believe.

Well, it SHOULD scare you... very much. Jesus Camp is a key element in the subversive Dominionist movement. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values, under cover of front organizations like the Christian Coalition, the American Family Association and the Promise Keepers. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. See: JESUS CAMP http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/jesuscamp/trailer/ Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.
All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans.
By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

I posted a question on this same thing. This is a heinous thing to subject children to and their parents should be put in jail for child abuse. These children are being brainwashed.

I agree, this is really scary. I think the parents that send their children to places like this should be condemned.

It bodes well for psychologists a few years from now when all the brainwashed kids have to go into therapy or rehab.

Sounds like we are gonna have a good crop of kids soon.
Maybe we will have another christian generation like they did in the 50's, before abortion and gay marriage and happy prisoners and reverse racism and terrorism and well, pretty much everything that can be somehow traced back to hippies.
