Its really quite simple if you think about it.
Because in a Free society you can trash talk any thing - any religion. Just so happens that in most free societies (the "West"), the major religion is Christianity - so it gets the most attention.
If free speech were allowed in the Islamic world the way we have it here - you'd definately see more "talk".
Just be happy that you/we will in a society where we can talk openly about religion. Personally, the more talk we have it, the more one becomes a "true" person of the faith instead of practising with "blind faith''.
Hope that Helps!

Christianity puts itself into the spotlight. That makes it a target. Juddaism is very low profile. I've never known a Jewish person who tried to force his religion on me or told me I would go to hell if I didn't accept his beliefs. Nor have Jewish people tried to make their holidays into national holidays, they just celebrate the day when it comes.
I am Catholic and I still get looked down upon by other supposedly Christian faiths that have slightly different beliefs than I do.
As for disproving Islam, most people don't know or understand the tenets of Islam so they wouldn't know where to start. Anyone who does publicly criticize Islam receives threats and can watch his nation's embassy get attacked for the next few months in almost every Muslim country accross the globe.

Most Atheists I know just go after Christianity. We don't feel that Judaism is a threat, for one. And if we just went after Islam, you'd think we were Christians LOL
The reason why we focus on Christianity in religious debates is twofold. 1 The people demonizing atheists and trying to write God into US law are christians. And 2, most Americans are christians, we're surrounded by you!
And no, Faith is not needed. Millions of people do just fine without it.

They do go after Judaism and Islam....and Buddhists, and atheists, and christians, and mormons, and pagans, and wiccans, and satanists, and scientologists, etc...and every religion brought up on YAnswers. I have answered several of these questions just trying to let people know that it's okay to choose your own religion. And we should be able to go throughout life without being persecuted for it.
I do agree that the disproving is unneeded.

Paradoxically speaking, people try to disprove that which they don't understand. And while there are many who try to disprove Christianity, there are also those who doubt Islam and Judaism. From what I was taught, everyone at the beginning of creation was Jewish. Jesus, himself, was Jewish. But because the Jews did not recognize Jesus as the son of God, other religions came into the picture; such as the Roman Catholics. Then Martin Luther who was a reformist, broke away from the Catholic church, and his followers became Lutherans. Hence, most of the Protestant religions are off-shoots of others, and are all lumped together as Christians, or followers of Christ. Faith is important, yes, for spiritual growth. But if you want factual knowledge, read the Bible, which also is a target for people who want to repudiate or disprove it.

Those people who point out the various inconsistencies, hypocrisy and other various flaws in Christianity have usually chosen Christianity because it is the most popular religion, and certainly has the most adherants in English speaking countries which is the language most of Yahoo questions posters use.
A disbelief in the validity of ALL religions is usually implied.
P.S. Islam is the only religion of the 3 you mentioned that actually acknowledges the other two as valid and considers that all 3 worship the same god by different names. Ironic, isn't it that Islam is therefore the most tolerant of the 3?

It seems like most of the aggression has to do with Christianity sleeping with the Government. Which might I add is not what many of us believe in. In fact I have had warning bells ringing in my ears for awhile now...but I'm only one voice against those who are yelling loudly. I do not see any reason why every one can't believe as they want and feel free to talk about it. I do not see why our rights have to be taken away to better serve us. We are not doing very well governing ourselves, that much is obvious by the state of things in the world today. However, I am leary of relinquishing too much control of my life to big brother either. So how about when you bash Christianity you spare a thought for me and remember not all of us are quite so backward.

Why not Islam? Little scary right now.
Why not Judaism? They don't tell me I'm going to hell.
I'm not interested in disproving Christianity as a whole. I'm trying to point out the fallacies inherent in the assumptions you must hold to follow the religion. With that corrected knowledge in hand, I want you to reevaluate your belief system and then make your decision.
And you're trying to dictate my laws and that is a no-no for me.

I'm not sure what you mean here.
First, I don't see all that many atheists attempting to "disprove" any faith at all. Faith, by definition, is belief that is above or beyond reason. Like the bumper sticker says, "God said it, I believe it, and that settles it." How can you argue logically with that? Whether you are praying to the creator of the universe or an imaginary being of your own construction can neither be proven nor disproven.
Some people like to have fun with biblical literalist Christians, simply because they have such a large book of appalling contradictions and paradoxes that it impossible to defend it all as logical, just, or even moral.
Who did Cain and Abel marry? Why wasn't that incest?
Should I REALLY sell my daughter into slavery if she disrespects me?
Do I have to kill my neighbor for worshipping a gravel idol?
And so on and so forth. People who are skeptical or outright disapprove of religion will continue to have fun with such rigid and literal Christians simply because they can.

It is not matter of being eager to disprove. It just happened that some of us found something worth telling but we we are not insisting unless Christians insist also on us about sinning and going to eternal hell if we don't listen to them.
I also do the same thing to other religions who tell me that I will suffer in hell if i don't belong to theirs.
