ONLY BEGOTTEN OF GOD. Only one born of God means there were no more after Jesus. But Joseph fathered James. So that there were more begotten from Mary or begotten of Mary and Joseph.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

Christians believe that Jesus was the only child of God but not the only child of Mary (she married and had other children with her husband). Therefore, God's only begotten and Mary's first-born.

First born is actually a legal title. The first born, the first to open the womb, is consecrated to God. Remember that God's people are first called to a priestly state before a kingly state.
Even if there is only one child, that child, in Hebrew culture, would bear the title of First Born and be consecrated to God.

Fun with semantics. First born "could" be the only. I don't see why there HAS to be more, but it leaves the possibility open. Only begotten is more specific. first and last.
You can add in your own holy stories from there.

God only sent one Son down to the earth. Mary birthed Jesus, but she had other children with her husband Joseph.

I assume that means that Mary went on to have other children. Why is that so hard to understand?
Edit: If you know the answer already, then what is your point? You just wanted to waste 5 more points?
