Yes it is symbolic because he is not HERE! my question is would they attack and eat him if he was HERE? You wouldnt symbolically eat your children would you?

Rodeba1 What you just described can be summarised in one word "Paganism"! How arrogant to say that Abraham and the prophets didnt understand what they were doing. Oh but you do??. If it is a metaphor why dont you speak the metaphor or read his words? Why do you eat something with your mouth and drink. wouldnt that be a misunderstanding of the metaphor if it is not really about eating flesh? How is a handshake similar to eating a humans flesh and drinking blood?

It appears you don't do much reading or understand much about language. Yes, he did teach exactly that, and the pharisees had the same reaction as you did, because they didn't understand it either. Regarding the prophets, Abram did indeed share communion with Melchezidek in Genesis, although he didn't understand what it meant. The prophets didn't understand any of the symbolic things they did, yet they did them all of the time.

Jesus spoke in parables, which is a symbolic use of language. Eating his flesh refers to taking His words and making them a part of our lives; drinking his blood refers to taking his blood line as our own and accepting his death as our own. It's all symbolism. If you want to know what we'll do when he returns, read the end of the Book. We use symbolism all of the time in a number of ways when we communicate with people. Ask the Arab people why a left-handed handshake is an insult, or read about the origin of the OK sign, the middle finger, or the military salute. You're surrounded by symbolic actions that stand for something else, especially in religion. Of course, you don't really care, do you? It's not like you really wanted to learn something...

There is no synolism involved in consuming the authentic body and blood of Jesus Christ.

What you fail to understand is that Catholics consume the transformed and glorified, resurrection body of Christ, which is substantially different than the dead flesh you obviously have in mind.

And no, when Jesus Christ comes again, the need for receiving him sacramentally will no longer exist.

At that time, and for all eternity, he will personally and physically dwell with his people, who will also have glorified, resurrection bodies just like his.

By the way, nobody asked you what you thought about it.

Naturally! He commanded it, didn't He at the Last Supper?
Receiving the Holy Communion is fusion with Christ, but before you do, please confess first and get rid of all the spiritual toxins, evil, sinfulness and negativities, as well as non-love things in your life before receiving Him. It is important that we first be truly repentant for all our iniquities. It's like, will you kiss on the mouth a guy or girl who doesn't brush his or her teeth and got bad breathe? Or would you hug or embrace anybody who doesn't take a bath and smells really bad. The cleansing you have to do is first and foremost, spiritual and I also think, secondarily, physical. God loves cleanliness, especially of the soul.

Actually, that's just another feature of the religion that the "christians" borrowed from earlier paganism. You kill the god or his representative and consume him to share in his power. In fact, it's literally the commonplace of all time, found in most every religion in the world in some form.
