Our kitten got lost 3 1/2 weeks ago and I have looked everywheres for her. I have put up posters, sent out flyers, set humane traps. I feel as though I have done everything to find her. Does anyone have any ideas? I still look everyday but after so long I wonder if she is still alive. What are the chances she could still be alive? If she was wouldn't I have seen her by now. I live out in the country and there is woods and wet lands behind me. Plenty of places for her to hide but of course we have predators like foxes. We only had her 8 days before (my husband) lost her. My children and I miss her very much. She was our first pet. I will try anything to find her. PLEASE HELP US!!!

I think there is still a decent chance that she is alive. She may have gotten lost and someone may have picked her up. Did you offer a reward on the posters? If it says "REWARD" more people are likely to respond. Did you put an ad in your local newspaper? More people would see that.
I wouldn't give up, but I also wouldn't put all of my hope on her coming back. It's always a possibility, but it still might not happen. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance at this point.

My mom once had a cat that was missing for 3 months, then one day she came home. Our best guess was that someone was keeping her in their house and then she got out and made her way back home.

Good luck! I hope you find her!

It is very unlikely for a 3 month old kitten to have survived. However, she may have been picked up by someone and taken to live in another home in another city. Some people find animals, and take them home and totally disreguard flyers and posters because the believe a caring owner wouldn't let the pet get loose in the first place.
I would suggest you get another pet, this time get him/her microchipped and/or tattooed (depending on the area you live in) by a vet or shelter. This way, if he/she does get lost, there is a better chance of recovery. However, you do need to be careful with open doors/windows because pets, especially cats, are smarter than you think and some are natural escape artists.

1st, call the local shelters, som1 may have dropped her off there. 2nd do u have a local newspaper w a lost n found pets section?

and finally, if u dont ever get her back she may still wind up having a good life.

i was working on my car a few mos ago n a 6 week old kitten just came walking up 2 me. it was very friendly n i could tell it had been around people. i called the shelter n gave my name n # but no1 ever called. in the meantime i took her 2 the vet n got her shots n all. i can tell u this: that kitten got very lucky 2 have found me cuz i love cats n am taking very good care of her 4 the rest of her life. if u dont get her back hopefully she met the same fate.

Some years my cat ,not a kitten but young went out and did not return. What happened I found out later was someone picked up the cat and gave it a new home....but years later and I mean years I heard a cat meowing near my door and I opened the door and my cat rushed in to his original home my apartment. That cat found his way home after years of been missing. True story . So some day you may hear a meow at your door :)

unlikely if not dead then someone might have picked her up and took her home
the only thing you can do is call the local pounds or describe what she looks like to see if they picked up a cat like that and place a ad in the news paper
continue to put flyers up for a little longer
its hard to give up but if nothing shows up week after week then you just got to accept it but i wish you the best of luck i hope she returns home>

I have no doubt your cat is capable of surviving in the wild. The only question is if something got it first. Of course, kids certainly can be rough on cats, so perhaps the cat wanted a rest from the excess attention.

Good Luck!

Cats, even young ones are really smart, so the kit could still be alive. Get something it has touched or has layed down on and put it outside so it can smell it's way home, that's how we found our kitten.

sorry to say but after a month it is time to move on. If the is only 3 months old I would not count on her coming back. I would suggest that you give up, stop dragging it out and mabey pick a new pet to love. Sorry.

I have a neighbor who's Maine coon cat was lost for about 3 months; when it finally showed up, it was skinny as a rail and covered in cob webs; They figure she was stuck in a basement of attic somewhere and someone finally left a door open for her to get out....did you check the neighbors? Poor thing...
