Well, most of us (including yours truely) think we're indestructable until we hit that magic age of 30. Now, it's going to take 20 years to fix up the things we screwed up in the 10 years of our 20's. It was quite a ride though :)

More men work outdoors like in contruction jobs. Maybe they want to get a tan to show off to ladies? A lot of guys don't think it's macho to use sunscreen. We also procrastinate till we get burnt.
Take care of ourselves? That's why G-d made girlfriends; to save us! The first thing any caring girlfriend says down at the beach/pool is
"you should put on some sunscreen. Now."
Do we listen? "Ouch, I'm all red? How did that happen? Honey...I should of listened to you."

Personally, I think most men just forget and since they did not bring any with them, they do not use it. Women, on the other hand, usually begin taking care of their skin at an early age (teenage years) with make-up, lotions, oils, etc. and are just used to always being prepared to take care of their skin better than men.

Wow! You sure are hung up on appearances! Terrified? yikes! This should be the least of your concerns, maybe the last thing on the list of a hundred that are far more important for a good relationship. Good God girl, if you are in your mid twenties and haven't yet figured this out you are going to end up a 'serial dater', chasing after illusions.

I don't like using sunscreen because it weakens my bodies natural ability to fight off ultraviolet radiation.
What happens when the ultraviolet radiation goes higher and you don't have a sunscreen on that time.
