Islam is reputed to be a peaceful faith,why then are so many acts of terrorism done by muslims?

Those who portray Islam as peaceful, are lying. It was founded by a violent man (Muhammad), and, (for instance) if Muslims don't kill unbelievers, they really aren't following his religion faithfully.

The only people who insist that mohommedanism is peaceful are the mohommedans. Everybody else realises exactly what the teachings are.

Granted, not every mohommedan is a terrorist, but then, do they issue fatwas against the terrorists for corrupting their religion - NO. They quietly sit and let them get on with it. Known as tacit support.

Because this is a false reputation, that's why. There are many peaceful Muslims, I know some personally (mostly women, though), but their religion is not so, it places a high value on religious war.

1.) Iraq :U.S. invades them, they were getting alone fine until there country was bombed, then they went into Civil war, U.S. among can have a civil war, but when another country does it they are barbarians
2.)Palestine There land is being occupied U.S. supports Irseal's occupation, yes it was wrong for the few people who burned the outside of churches, but did you know before then Christains were looting Muslim stores, and Christian Miltants killed 71 people

Afgahanstan: U.S. invades them and they fight back, but that is bad because they are Muslim
Lebonan She and Isreal go back inforth in kidnapping years, when Hebollah does it (it is typical and both do it) Isreal starts to bomb its infracstructure
London: Yes that was plain wrong, but what about the many riots that happen throughout the History of Europe and America by Christians

You are not being objective, what if someone invaded your country or one by yours? this is the most common question we hear now a days. being a muslim i been never told by anyone that terrorism is an act of Islam or these things are according to islam's teaching.
However, i think most terrorists(ppl is not a right word for them)are young guys who being told since their childhood that non-muslims are their enemies. or those who use to be so calles spoiled kids and they want to do some act which can overcome their previous sins.

because Muslims feel that there's a war aimed at their religion. Muslims in the middle east supported America's decision in attacking Al Qaida but then they saw the US committing horrible crimes in Iraq instead.
the US has a long history in the middle east. from over throwing opposing regimes to supporting Israel's illegal occupation.

and just so you know, ALL those terrorist acts are maybe done by so called Muslims but they are done for political reasons and not religious. maybe religion started to be used later on but AFTER they felt that Islam is being attacked by the west once again. you know, insulting cartoons of the prophet, desecrating the holy Quran in Guantanamo prison and desecrating mosques in Iraq and Afghanistan. kinda provokes a holy war dont you think?

I think the question to be too topical. If you were to consider all events over a longer timescale you will undoubtably find that the 'western' religions are streets ahead in terms of amount of killings and suchlike.
You dont have to be called a terrorist in order to wreak terror. Who could say that government sanctioned obliteration is not really terrorist in act. ?
