Yes, I honestly do play favorites with my kids but when I am spending money on them I try to keep it as equal as possible. My daughter was always closer to her father than me. So when my son came along it was just me and him alot of the time. We are really close.

Omigod. These are children, not pets. A difficult child may need more attention and care but is that any reason to love the other more? How would you even do that? Shame on you. And kids can tell. Put a little effort into parenting.
Each child is different, don't you value their differences?
Maybe the one you're ignoring will end up being the one to care for you when you get old and they can treat you just like you taught them. Wouldn't that be a kick in the @ss.

Wow. I am shocked at some of your responses!! You might want to go hug your children and tell them your sorry for being a horrible parent!!
I have 2 boys and I love them both the same--a whole bunch!! I can't imagine life without either one of them. One may be more difficult than the other or one may relate to you better but to actually favor one over the other is messed up! Yes, you have a different relationship with each child but they are all your children!!

I have 1 child and 1 on the way. I would never in a million years favor 1 over the other.

I think your relationship with each child is unique. Just like each child is a unique individual. We are all responsive humans and some children seek our attention more than others. Do I consciously choose one over the others? Never. Do they all get equal attention? That's impossible.

I love them both equally, but I like them differently every day! My older son is more out going and open to doing things, so some days I like him better. Some days, though, he's too much work because he requires a lot of amusement. That's when I like my younger one more. He is more mellow and easy going and is more often content to hang out and chill. So, sure, I prefer one to the other some days, but, I don't love one more than the other.

Honestly? No. I, too am shocked by some of the responses given. Love should be unconditional, shouldn`t be an "I love you, if..." or "I love you, but..." It`s I LOVE YOU. And if your heart isn`t big enough to love your children equally then shame on you.

No I love all my children the same. But I do seem to spend more time with my older child because I can relate to her more.
