It would help a little. But people will always find other ways of hating each other. Race, nationality, gender, language, social class, political party, culture, you name it. Religion is just the number one cause of hate, not the sole cause of it.

There wouldn't be peace. Humans seem to fight against anyone who is different. If you are black and I am white, I am more likely to distrust you because it is harder for me to put myself in your shoes. The same is true with rich versus poor or religious versus non-religious. People look for the differences between themselves before they look for the similarities.
Religions are just big groups of people. But, if there was a single religion acrosss the world, there still would not be peace. People would look for the differences (skin color, accent, language, food choices, etc.) rather than the similarities of the same religion.
But, this doesn't mean that religion isn't a strange bird. It can be a great civilizing influence, and it can be a great destructive influence on the world stage.

Although many wars in the past have been declared in the name of religion, many were still based from power and land. No, the world today would not be more peaceful, the agenda's and reason's for war would change if it were religious based. It could be as simple as one culture accidental offending another culture; and both allow the resentment boil for hundreds of years.

Peace has nothing to do with religion. Religion is a weapon used to divide people into categories: good & bad, those who deserve to live & the others who deserve to die, us & them, first & third class citizens. So, when the occassion arises religion is a powerful weapon to manipulate people.
If there was no religion all those who profit from a war would have invented sth else just like they did in Iraq.

There is no such thing as World Peace. It is a fairytale made up by "civilized" people to give the suffering masses something to hope for. Kinda like heaven.

No. Man has been kiling his fellow man long before there was any religion. We kill each other for many may other things besides religion. It's part of our fallen nature.
James 4 (The Message)
1-2Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don't have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn't yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it.
2-3You wouldn't think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you'd be asking for what you have no right to. You're spoiled children, each wanting your own way.

No. There are plenty of athiestic countries in the world today. They are by no means "peaceful" places to live. In the absense of God, humans try to take complete control of other humans, using any and all force necessary. This creates a "police state", not a peaceful place to live.

It would be somewhat more peaceful, but religion is used as an excuse to sieze property for the greedy. Killing an enemy for God sounds so much more civilized than killing an enemy for money.( the real reason for all wars).

i don't think so. peace on earth does not depends on there's any religion or not, but the existence of human being. So if you want peace, just eliminate all human
and it's not as simple as obeying orders and laws. It's Utopia

Yes........(possibly)
I think religion does the exact opposite of what it is supposed to do. It does not unite people , even families have fueds over so called beliefs. In a perfect world we should not need religion and just live in peace
