Easy and traditional is best
I served this one at a patio party this summer, even none wine drinkers enjoyed it.
1 bottle of modest Spanish wine
Osborne - Solaz - Tempranillo / Cabernet
4 cups orange juice
4 ounces brandy
2 Tablespoon Honey.
Orange slices
1 Vanilla Bean split
Let rest for 2 hours stir gently and serve over ice.
Remember, sangria is a light drink not heavily alcoholic. That's what makes it such a good party drink, people don't tend to get to wasted on it.

I've made these different ones for parties and they all were great! Here they are :)
White Sangria
This sangria takes 5 to 10 minutes to assemble in a large pitcher. Take the time to prepare it in the morning so the sangria has several hours to develop its fruity flavor. Pull it out when dinner is done is ready to serve that evening.
3 tablespoons sugar
3 shots Calvados or other apple liquor
1 lime, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
2 ripe peaches, cut into wedges
3 ripe green apples seeded and cut into wedges
1 bottle white Rioja Spanish wine or other dry white wine
1 pint raspberries
Sparkling soda water, for topping off glasses of sangria at table
Combine sugar, Calvados, lime, lemon, peaches and apples in a large pitcher. Cover with 1 bottle of Rioja wine and chill sangria several hours. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets, adding a few fresh raspberries in each glass, pour wine over top of the fruit. Top glasses of sangria off with a splash of soda water and serve.
Rose Sangria
1 pint bottle rum
1 pint bottle Spanish brandy
1 bottle rose wine
2 liters Sprite
Clear-colored large pitcher filled half-way with ice cubes
Apple slices
Grapes
Lemon slices
Lime slices
Measure 3/4 cup rum, 3/4 cup brandy, 2 cups wine, and 2 cups Sprite, and pour all into pitcher over ice and stir with a long wooden spoon. Dice a few pieces of apple, remove a few grapes, both green and purple, from stems and cut in 1/2, and dice a few pieces each of lemon and lime. Add diced fruit to pitcher and stir once more. Pour Sangria into tulip glasses.
Peach Sangria
3 ripe peaches (about 1 pound), halved and pitted
1 bottle young Riesling (750ml or 3 1/3 cups)
10 leaves lemon verbena, lemon balm, or mint, loosely torn
With a box grater, grate 2 of the peach halves into a pitcher, discard the skins. Finely dice the remaining peaches, add them to the pitcher along with the wine and herbs. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 2 hours. Serve.

i btl 750 ml. red wine, i like a red zinfandel (that's NOT the pink one), sliced fruit.. apples, oranges let that stand overnight. add a bottle of club soda right before seving. also, to make a white wine sangria, use a sauvignon blanc, and fruits like strawberries, peaches. i like the white in the spring summer, red in fall and winter.
