So you've met someone online, talked on the phone, things are going great. He lives far away, as in to go see him, you would need to stay overnight. How long should you wait before going to meet him?

If you go to see him, and its the first meeting, (1) I would not let him know I was staying overnight (in a hotel I assume) and obviously where I was staying. A first meeting should always be in a public place and not at someones home or hotel room because you do not know the consequences of what could happen with someone whom you have never actually never met.
