That depends on what you do when you touch yourself...

If it is to scratch an itch, then no.

If it is to masterbate, then you need to stop and go to confession.

Depends on if you believe all the catholic teachings.
No where in the bible does it say you cannot touch yourself like that.

However, It does say that your body is a temple of god

1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Now, do you think it is okay to touch yourself for your own selfish pleasure?

I think you can now answer your own question.

Bless you for your question.

+ Mortal Sin +

Not just any sin will send you straight to hell. Only mortal sins can do that.

Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God.

A mortal sin is a grave infraction of the law of God that destroys the divine life in the soul of the sinner (sanctifying grace), constituting a turn away from God. For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must be present: grave matter, full knowledge of the evil of the act, and full consent of the will.

Most of the sins we commit are venial sins. Venial sin is a sin which does not destroy the divine life in the soul, as does mortal sin, though it diminishes and wounds it. Venial sin is the failure to observe necessary moderation, in lesser matters of the moral law, or in grave matters acting without full knowledge or complete consent.

The sin you mention is not as grave as murder or terrorism.

However consistent unrepentant venial sins can slowly destroy your relationship with God and become mortal sin.

People die all the time with venial sins on their conscience and they will go to heaven.

+ Masturbation +

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

+ With love in Christ.

God gave us eyes to see nature and art, ears to hear birdsong and symphonies, a tongue to taste truffles and blueberries, a nose to smell roses and cinnamon.

Now, why would He give us this wonderful pleasure organ if we are supposed to pretend that it's dirty and evil. I just don't get it. ;-)
