Hyland's Teething Tablets work fantastic. They are one of the few things that work for my baby sometimes.
Also, washcloths that you dampen and then freeze (rewet slightly before giving it to baby), baby carrots (watch baby closely and don't give anymore once the tooth breaks through), chilled teething toys, frozen banana (I like to put this in one of those mesh feeders), other frozen fruit that your baby has already been exposed to (also in mesh feeder to prevent choking), ice wrapped in a washcloth (secured with rubber band) wet the cloth before giving it to the baby (it will be colder that way)

Teething tablets, come in a small tiny bottle. They melt in the mouth quickly and numbs the gums just a bit.
