I am 15 weeks pregnant, so we don't know what we are having yet. We already have a boy name picked out, however, we have been having trouble with a girl name. If we have a girl we want her name to start with an A, because we have two girls already and both of their names start with A's.
I finally found a name last night that I love:
Alannah pronounced A-lane-a
However I don't want her to go through life with people pronouncing it A-lawn-a. Should I add an I and spell it Alainnah to help with that? Also, we don't have a middle name yet, so if you can help with that too. Thanks!

Yes I would suggest spelling it with an "i" to help prevent mispronounciation.

I have another suggestion for a name that starts with "A". I just love this name & wanted to use it for my youngest daughter but bf didn't like it. It is Aislinn (ace-lyn) & I was going to call her Asa for short. Just a suggestion.

Middle names for Alainnah:
Rose
Marie
Michelle
Lynn
Elizabeth
Nicole
Brynn
Raina (Just joking, sorry)
Lee
Leah
Paige
Dawn
Renea
Kate (Alainnah Kate - very pretty!)

Hope this helps. Good luck & congrats.

My daughters name is Rreiawna(pronounced R-re-on-a) Kaidance and my name is Christian Charlene. My sisters name is Jessie Tisha Diane and her two sons names are David Matthew and Shawn Luke. My brothers name is Christopher Jay. We all have very unique names. I was named after a church and my middle name was after my grandfather Charles.

The name of your unborn is simply up to you hun. I found some great sites that you can go and look at names and the meanings of them.

Remember the name has to be speical. Spell it any way you would want to. I think tho by adding that I to the name would help people to understand that its pronouced a certain way. I go to doctor app. and either they don't say my daughters name right or they just call her by her last name. So by you putting her name as Alainnah instead of Alannah it would do a lot of good. You can see by adding just simple letter has a major effect. And your right, Alannah does look to be prounced as A-lawn-a. I do like the way you want to spell it, Alainnah. And for her middle name. Make is somthing special and meaningful and worth wild.

I think that if you want people to spell it right and pronounce it correctly that it would be Alaina. My name is spelled in an odd way - I've spent my life making people spell it right. For awhile, I hated being different but later I decided that my name was sort of special. For a middle name, how about Anne or Ann and it can also be spelled Ayn (I have cousin's with middle name spelled this way). I like the multi-syllable first name with the single middle name. But check the initials and make sure they don't spell anything weird. :) Good luck to you!!

and by the way I love the name and you should spell it the second way and someone can't pronounce it it is their fault for being illiterate.

If you don't want people mispronouncing your daughter's name, try Alice or Ann or Angie. In other words, stick with basic spelling and basic names. Otherwise, it's a guessing game with all the weird names out there (most aren't even real names any more, just things people make up).

For the record, it's spelled Alanna and that gives you the pronounciation you want.

If you don't want it mispronounced you should really spell it Elena. But to each his own. Names these days aren't really names anymore. They're just made up names so good luck with that.

Ashleigh is a nice name. It's spelt the French way and I prefer that to the English way. Good luck with your baby!
