If you are asking about the Biblical answer, the Bible is unclear on this matter.
There are passages in the Bible that suggest that is someone is completely ignorant, then God will have mercy on that person. God judges people based on what they were able to learn.
Paul said in the first two chapters of Romans that basic morality is self-evident from nature itself, so people who sin have no excuse. If people respond to the knowledge that they have, then God will see to it that they are able to learn more. God is always fair.
-----------------edit------------
In response the the guy above who quoted the Eskimo hunter who said, "why did you tell me?", Jesus' last command to his disciples before he ascended into Heaven was to spread the teachings of Jesus to every tribe, language, and country. The Church is not allowed to deliberately keep people in ignorance. Besides, if someone was truly looking for God, then why would he not welcome more knowledge? If someone was trying to hide from God, well, God knows where you are, so you will probably find out sooner or later.

"morita senpai", you are thinking of Luke 12:47-49, I believe.
Also see John 9:40-41 & Acts 17:16-34
John 9
Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?" Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.
Acts 17
Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'
"Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."

They'd have to live under a very big rock in this day and age.
Any "native" found inland in Africa or South America that has never seen a white person, probably has a religion of their own with some fact about an afterlife.
That is common among all races.

actually that used to be the positin of the church in mideval times, and the justification for the missionary work with fire and sword and they put it.
the reason being that by killing a heathen in the name of god, you allow him to be judged and redeemed after the end of days, thus actually doinghim a favor. people had a hard time to understand why said heathens didnt seem to understand that and just let themselves be slaughtered... and robbed and raped and extorted along the way... like god wants them to be?
modern church has changed its view on the fire and sword thing, but there are still missionaries out there, bringing 'the word' to people who didnt want it in the first place and have no use for it anyway...
nor did it actually reddem its previous policy.

People go to Heaven or Hell because of what is in their hearts, not because of what is in their minds.
And God knows only who has what.

There is no hell as Bible adhering Christians want you to believe. It's a threat the orthodox church used to draw people away from Paganism and Judaism. No one is going to burn in hell forever.

Every man will know who God is,,and I am sure someone has said something to this person before about God...It is only your choice you hear the words but don't listen...Jesus died for you and if you don't repent then you know what happens,, we walk by faith...

Somewhere in the Bible(if i remember correctly), there's this parable of 2 servants punished according to the severity of their sin. Those who know and did it will be punished more heavily than the one who didn't know.
Someone who has heard of this parable, pls remind me of the chapter and verse?

you will be judged according to your works
Proverbs 24:12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
It is my understanding you will not be held accountable for things you didn't know in your heart were wrong... but even in this day, it is hard to find people who have never heard of Jesus Christ- we send missionaries into the bushes! And most people know in their heart right from wrong even before they become adults
