You need to consume atleast 2500 calories/day, as well as roughly 200-250g protein. Make sure you get 6-8 hours of sleep, as muscles only grow at rest. And make sure you're using really heavy weight with all exercises that you can only perform 1-6 reps. This will shock your muscles, thus causing them to grow.

Well the easy way is dont limit yourself to arm/ab workouts, get your body a full workout, including those boring and bothersome leg exercises. Also, build more on the carbs while eating, breads, ect.. that way you will burn those instead of your muscles weight. Also, get some protein, there are many forms you can take, but your local GNC or gym will easily be able to supply you with what you need. And the most important thing is to remain consistant. I gained 30 lbs in a couple months.. but I did a different way, that was with Steroids. My doctors used steriods to try and heal my leg and pretty much over dosed me, and since my leg was so screwed up I couldnt work out at all, which just made me gain the weight without the muscle.. but I went from 140 to over 170 really quickly, getting as high as 190 at times.. I am not at 165 steadily though.. Hope that helps.

by the way, luv ur screen name. was so happy to see this- its what im going to school for!!! first of all, go to health store and get protein shakes.(soy protein, i think, is best b/c its a healthy plant based shake. )thats what builds your muscle. get some creatine, that is an amino acid that helps build and sustain muscle. i have a whole diet plan down to the very gram of a carb you should be getting. if u dont feed your muscles, you wont see results. mail me at luvnherb@yahoo.com and i will write out a plan for your height and weight. GNC is the best store for help, too and you can go online!!! good luck

to gain muscle you have to tear it and repair it... this is done by pushing yourself beyond your limits weightlifting at the gym
eat lots of protein and lots of carbs
cut the fat to see muscle... your body fat should be at 10% on an average heighted male to begin seing your abs.... if you have belly fat and you work out your abs, your muscles will develop UNDER the fat , so cut the fat and reduce your over all bosy fat to start seeing quick results
sometimes meats are not enough protein... whey protein builds good muscle. you will need to get your protein from outside sources such as shakes and powders.
eat carbs, these are good for energy and will help you "bulk up"
eat lots of pasta and breads and potatoes stay away from the sweets
hope it helps

when you work out...do shorter reps of a higher weight...that will help add bulk to your muscles...then eat lots of protein...carbs will help too...just eat a bit more protein than carbs and make sure you replenish after you finish working out. Alot of gyms will have shakes or protein drinks in their cooler...so spend the few extra bucks and that will refuel you and help your body not to fall weak.

Make sure you are eating 1.5 grams of protien per day for every pound you weigh, spread out through the day. Also, look into a protien shake called "Isopure". It's one of the best out there, with 50 grams of protien per serving.
