I know illegal immigration issues important and need to be dealt with. but what about 'americans' who plunder the system as well? I want to see serious welfare reform and not just in dealing with illegals. my husband is a deputy sherriff and when we had our first son-we really did not know about wic etc. then when we had our second baby my neighbor told me about wic. i went to the office and applied and was quickly denied because they said he made too much money. we pay taxes and when we need a little help, you dont get it. it should not be like that. I think if you work and help put money into the system you should be able to receive help when you need. i have a serious problem with 'anyone' entering illegally-having not contributed a d a m n dime- and applying and receiving help before someone who has paid into the system. b u l l s h i t! is what it is.

So some one else besides me is frustrated and tired of "paying" and not receiving. Wow thought I would never see the day. Politics is obsessed with redistributing wealth. Its amazing how charitable they can be as long as its some one elses money. I recall a certin politition who was running for office a few elections ago and it came out exactly what he paid in charitable contributions in the previous year. Less than $300. He had more wealth than I could shake a stick at and I donated more than that.. Yet he was willing to tax me further in order to pay for some pet welfare project. I donate what I donate, then I put things away for my own welfare/rainy day. I won't get a dime out of government. I have raised 5 kids by my self. I don't collect child support, food stamps, welfare, SSI, WIC, or anything else. Its my sweat. Yes I have days when I realize how much more I would have if I didnt' have to pay all that tax money. I gross about 18,000 per year. I take home about 12,000 per year. Yup I raised kids and paid off home and car and did it on1000 a month.

yup I'd like to see some of them grow up. Yup I realize some of then need a lot of help. Perhaps its time for the private sector to be responsible for charity and let governtment stick to governing. Funny how every single private, civic organization that does charity work, does it better and with better results and with greater effeciency. With all the donated labor, there are some that put 100% of the donated money to work. No administrative costs. Government will never be able to say that.

Why do you hate?? You feel like the government owes you something when all you have to do is freaking study and stop having kids you can't afford because you go over the limit on your credit card??
Don't blame illegals or anyone for your problems. Blame the government who obviously does not care a bit about your issues.

Americans are the ones the system was built for.

Illegals are stealing.

Poor people don't pay enough in taxes to cover the services like education, much less social services like welfare or foodstamps for their kids. That is why all countries limit how many poor people can come.

Illegals are busting our budgets and ruining our schools for our own children.

Whether they are 'just as deserving' as our poor isn't the point. They AREN'T our poor, and are not our responsibility. Our children who use the schools are our responsibility.

you mean "raping" not "rapping". you should use the spell check feature.
by the way, this country was created by immigrants, so unless you think your family should never have come to this country, you should stop complaining about immigrants. as for the legal americans, a lot of people abuse the system, and the do it more than the illegals. illegals arent going to apply for government help because then the INS will catch them and deport them. so the ones that are messing up your life are the legal american citizens who just take advantage of the loopholes in the government.

I agree with you completely. I'm having the same problem.....can't get assistance because I work and make too much money to qualify. The ones who keep having children over and over, when they know full well they can't afford the hospital bills, you know...the irresponsible ones...are getting all the help while the working, responsible folks suffer. And on top of that the illegals are getting government assistance - and they're not even US citizens! You're right...it's bs.

You are correct in your assessment of the problem. Their are many so-called proud Americans that take advantage of programs design to help out people in need. I've seen it up close.
I live in 60 west of New Orleans. After Katrina, people stood out in lines overnight to collect Food Stamps. While many needed the help, by the same token many did not. Sure we lost power for 5 - 10 days in some instances, and I'm certain that many merchants lost money in that period, but many of the people that receive the help did not need it...

P.S. To anyone that thinks that it was just minorities waiting in line. Sorry. I live in a predominate white republican Parish...

My sister tried to get food stamps after her husband died. They told her she made $12 .00 to much. She ask them what was she to do and how was she going to feed her two children they told her to ask her boss to cut her pay $12. She refused. And was denied. No one in my family has ever claimed any type of government assistance and we now know that we couldn't if we had to.

I think you mean RAPING the system!!!!!

As AMERICANS,our citizens are ENTITLED to the welfare benefits, ILLEGALS are NOT!!!!!!!
And,yes there ARE Americans who are abusing the system too,but AT LEAST their parents, grandparents etc, and probably THEMSELVES, have PAID INTO the system at one time, where ILLEGALS have NOT!!!!

ILLEGALS are NOT entitled to even ONE benefit that they receive!!!!!

You can't be that stupid. I guess you are so I will speak sloooowllly for you.

Americans are entitled. Illegal CRIMINALS are not. The system was set up for poor citizens of this country, not your criminal leeches who think they are entitled just because they are here.
