Yes, it's quite normal to look under a new boyfriend's bed. You find all sorts of clues to help you assess his character. Look for things such as accumulated dust and cobwebs, used condoms, his train set, magazines (note the titles), and so on. If he keeps a chainsaw there then it's best to find out sooner rather than later.
In your case, you might ask if he's eating properly. That could explain the night-time snacks and the chapped lips. Check that the cucumber is still within its best-before-date before you eat it.

"IF", it was 'normal' wouldn't you have one under your bed also?
I think you know the answer...but I'll say IT for you...your now "ex" -boyfriend who kept a cucumber and a tub of Vaseline under his bed....is not normal. To say the least he has some abnormal ways about him ! Tell him you accidentally made the discovery when you were searching for a lost earring...IF he says he had the cucumber and tub of Vaseline under his bed to scare away the boogie man....you still have an "ex-"boyfriend who isn't quite NORMAL.....This is probably the tip of the ice berg...run while you have a chance!

hope he does not get the munchies in the nite.and his feet must be realy bad so he's got the vaseline.-this is me being blank.
he must be not too good in bed so he misuses the cucumber and i have gone it now or is he using it on himself as a toy i know them toys are very expencive and it is cheaper to get a cucumber instead and he will be spoilt for chice every time he goes the tesco, saynsbury's ,asda, morrison's of the veg market.
i never knew he was into salad stuff in bed.
i'd get a real man if i were you/good luck honey before you end up in the veg market shop lifting cucumber's to please him everytime he's upset with you.
if he take's a cucumber to bed you can take the bitter coie to bed, carela in indian.it's got them bubbles on the surface.he'll like it.better then the cucumber honey.good for the blood too and reduces diabeties.

Vaseline doesn't come in tubs, it comes in jars. People don't put vegetables under their beds because they attract insects and become rotten.
You're making this all up for some silly reason...maybe to get off on the answers? Isn't that a little sicko?

Well that all depends. Is there Vaseline on the Cucumber? Were they even close in proximity? IF so were they for you? It may or may not be normal. Talk to him.

Sounds like someone's been at the Vaseline salad on the sly.
You could confront him about it but he's obviously embarrassed about being a salad munching southerner, although really there's no harm in it.
Why not leave him to it, or even suggest that you eat a bit of salad together, it could strengthen the bond between you. You could even suggest a salad that isn't petroleum jelly based, say.... baby oil?
Good luck!

He likes cucumber; you like crawling around under beds.
Everybody's gotta have a hobby.

Normal is a concept, esp in sex. If you find it distressing, ASK him about it. Make a joke about it if you want to, but get it clear. This may be something you'll wish you'd known about in the future, otherwise. If it grosses you out now, think how you would feel if years ahead you discovered he had all kinds of kinks you didn't know about.

Either a girl's been in there pleasuring herself, or he's been pleasuring her with the cucumber cos he came too soon, or he's bisexual and he has been pleasuring himself anally. Anything and everything is normal. The question is, if any of my statements are true, do you want to continue to see him?
