Mouthwash is best, it will kill the germs. Usually bacteria is what causes bad breath. Bonbons or candy just mask the smell temporaily.

Neither. Brushing your teeth and flossing. Absolutely no way around it. You can suck on a candy or wash your mouth out... but those bits of food or bacteria jammed and rotting by your gums are the culprit. If this continues even after the proper oral care, you made need to see a doctor.
