I am getting married in June 2007. We are holding a small 50 person wedding in a local park. I live in Texas. Here are my questions.

1.) I am thinking of sage and a vibrant pink color?!? What do you think?
2.) I want gerbra daisey's in my bouquet...any suggstions as to colors, or types?
3.) what would be the best type of dress to wear, remember June, Texas, hot, outside...

HELP ME!

1- as long as the pick isn't overpowering it sounds cute. Only use it in accents.
2- I would want white Daises
3- You have to go and look, it all depends on what you look like in the dress, but remember it takes a few months to have it shipped to you and a while to get it altered. Don't put it off.

Congratulations and remember this is YOUR wedding. Do what you think is best.

For the colors of the dresses, I strongly suggest picking the color that looks best on your attendant(s). So many colors go well for a June wedding, there is no reason to limit it. But if your heart is set on sage green and pink, that will work. Just keep in mind that sage might was out your maid's skin, and she won't look as nice in pictures.

Stay away from gerbra daisy's for a hot Texas wedding! They look fab, but they are not very sturdy. They wilt much faster than roses, and the heat will speed this up even more. It is true that roses are the sturdiest, hardiest flowers and will look the nicest the longest. This is why they are usually in bridal bouquets.

I think a simple, informal dress would be very nice for your wedding. Especially if it will be outside and since the wedding is small. They can look very elegant. Mori Lee and Alfred Angelo have some very nice dresses that seem lighter weight and more informal. You want to stay away from tulle!

1. I love a bright pink, but please don't make the guys wear it (ties or whatever- if you get a tux).

2. gerbra daisies are lovely and whenever I think of them I can only picture the pink yellow and orange

3. I LOVED this dress, but my wedding was a little more formal than what this dress seems to be. You're having a smaller wedding and it'll be hot so maybe it's a suggestion? It may even be less expensive now that it's out of season- by that I mean we're out of summer. I bought a Spring design in February (my dress was from the year before). It was originally $800 and I got it for $250.

Great site even if you don't like that dress. I would avoid a fuller dress- all the tulle will make you hot. Maybe go with a fitted dress or a simple A-line.

1.) the colors I LOVE! (they are kind of springy but June is like late late spring so it works)

2.) Flowers can be colored any color you want (might cost more but sometimes worth it) I would talk to a florist. They are trained and know what they are doing. But try to leave out the word wedding as this can add a 50-75% mark up on your flowers. So when ordering your flowers for the ceremony or reception say its for a family reunion and order the bridal party's flowers separate. (it might work for you or might be a hassle, the choice is yours i just thought i would share that bit of info with you)

3.) Now a day, you can just about wear what ever you want... we are now modern brides... setting new trends. I would wear a light material dress that is fairly short... like a tea length. Depending upon your build you can find a dress that will flatter your figure the best.

Below is a web sight that has the Anatomy of a Wedding Dress.

Congrats and have fun!!

1. I think those colors sound wonderful. Especially for an outdoor summer wedding
2. Gerber daisies are great. I would go with the vibrant pink color for you and white for your bridesmaids. It will contrast nicely with your dress and theirs
3. I live in Texas and I can understand the hot climate. Although I know people who have worn very formal dresses in the summer ouside. Is it a formal wedding? Will the guys be wearing tuxedos? I think you can go with any type of dress depending on how you look in it. I actually have a beautiful dress-unused, still with tags-that i bought for a wedding that didn't happen. If you're interested, I could send you pictures of it. I am desperate to get rid of it.

You need to wear a light dress made out of silk or satin. Also I live in Texas too and last June we had 20 days of 100 degree weather and the other days were high 90's. Do you think your guest will sit in that heat just to watch you get married they will be all sweaty and stinky so will you what about your make-up it will start to run because it's so hot. If you don't remember June with the humid felt like 105 degrees. I would walk from my house to my car and start sweating and your having a wedding out side. Do you have any older people coming or children coming how will they deal with that.

All right, girly, here's the deal - you can get Gerber daisies in just about any size or color. They come in many colors naturally, but you can also have them dyed or sprayed, it just costs a bit more. (If you like daisies, you should also check out chrysanthemums - they are a similar type of flower and may give you other options, depending on the types of bouquets and arrangements you're looking for - spider mums are particularly striking.)
I considered the sage/mint spectrum myself for my wedding (it's my favorite color!). It makes for a lovely bridesmaid dress, but keep in mind that there will be plenty of green surrounding your wedding, just from the leaves and greenery itself. You also won't find many naturally green flowers. You may want to reconsider green for a medium blue or even a yellow. (I've also noticed a lot of browish colors the past couple years.) White is always a striking contrast with a bright color, like pink, and it may give more contrast to the natural green foliage, so the green will still be a prominent color.
Strapless dresses are EVERYWHERE - very popular right now, and always good for summer weddings. However, there are a number of different styles you could try. A lighter "sheath" style - single layer of whatever kind fabric that falls gracefully and hugs the curves slightly - with an open or slightly open back, and maybe tea- or ankle-length, would probably do fine. I wouldn't recommend layers if you're going to be outside much - your legs will be very hot and uncomfortable. But, style is a very subjective thing - go with what you like!
One of the things I appreciated most about my dress (Oleg Cassini) was that it was molded, which means I could wear it with no...ahem..."foundation garment"!
Check out www.theknot.com - I lived on this website while I was engaged. You can find all kinds of answers there, but if you've got more wedding questions, let me know. I'd be glad to help!

PS - Keep in mind your bridesmaids' body types before you choose their dresses!

First of all...CONGRATS!

1. You're thinking of both of those colors or one or the other? I'm partial to vibrant pink - I got married last May and had 'raspberry' colored bridesmaid dresses.

2. No clue!

3. Not a gown, that's for sure! Check out David's Bridal website...they have a lot of nice wedding dresses that are lighter and not as extravagant as most wedding gowns.

Good luck!

Well i think it is great that you are wanting to stray away from white wedding dress. Im getting married in November and my dress isn't white either. Pink sounds fab. Go for a thin silky dress, that wont be too hot for June. Pink, yellow ans white flowers would be lovely, i like tulips.

I'm getting married in September and those are the same colors I picked. I am using lillies and dark pink baby roses. And definately go with a strapless dress. Dont wear silk, its so heavy it will keep you very hot. Also now days you can go with any color of dress, white isnt mandatory.
