He would first have that super human strength he usually has, but after 2-3 hours Olive and Bluto would have to rush him to the Hag for open stomach surgery

If Popeye ate the spinach, he'd be so weak that Bluto would just beat the poor guy to a bloody pulp.

When I asked a similar question of my wife yesterday, she just stared at me and shook her head. I can see the scene though. Popeye eats the spinach, the spinach-eating theme music starts up, and then just as he goes to take a swing at Bluto, he keels over.

Couldn't possibly get strong because it would pass through his system to fast along with everything else. It would be hard to keep him from being malnourished after consuming E-coli. That is why some die, not a laughing matter.

Hey, truth is, fictional character or no, Popey is da man! He's not going to be buggered by some stupid "real person" sickness. He would eat the spincah, get buff, and save his chica; business as usual.

I think his muscles would bulge out and then shrink really fast as he fell over in horrible pain....he'd have to buy a new pipe too, because he sucks the spinach through the pipe....provided that he lives through it! :)
