As human beings, we don't all look the same ,think alike or come from the same place, so why should we all believe the same way? My chosen path has made me a much kinder, more understanding, more compassionate person than I ever was before. I am a much more positive presence in the universe than I was as a christian. If a person's beliefs make them a better human being and therefore be better to others, then I don't see how one could say any of them are all wrong.
By the way, I am a witch. Not a wiccan. Not a satanist. Not a magician. I Do have a connection with the Divine. I am also connected to you and everything else in the universe.
I do not seek to change your path to the Divine, and I am very happy with mine. Why shouldn't that be ok?

There may not be a need, but there certainly seems to be a desire.
I agree that there is only ONE higher power. I refuse however to limit "It" to the confines that some religions do.
The higher power I believe in is much more diverse than the one I was taught about as a child.
I do not refer to It as "God" because that implies a totally masculine force.
I believe "It" encompasses both male and female qualities, both good and evil, both light and darkness. I believe "It" to be a state of perfect balance. Something we as human beings must strive to attain while we are here on earth. Only then is my mission accomplished, then my soul may rest easy.
I believe that we are all born with a spark of the Divine in us and that it is our mission to brighten that spark until the point when we rejoin the Source.
That point will be my "heaven".
I believe that the cycle of nature-birth,life,death and then rebirth- does not exclude me, for I too, am a child of Nature.
I wish you ALL peace.

Whilst Adam and Eve were obedient to God,there was only one belief system. There is only one Almighty God,creator of all things, and it was He's intention that the earth be filled with righteous perfect humans all worshiping him in peace and harmony on a beautiful garden paradise called earth.
However,Satan tricked our first parents into disobedience and rebellion, and thereafter sin and death entered into the world.Because of man's now sinful condition,he became alienated from God and with Satans continued influenze man was being drawn away from true worship and apostasy crept in,pagan worship developed. And in time pagan worship was even fused in with pure worship and Christendom was born.
The point is that there is only one true God.He's name is Jehovah. And He alone is the Universal Sovereign of the Universe. So if there is only one true God, there must be only one true religion.
If we want to worship God in a way that is acceptable to Him,we must search the scriptures to find the truth and seek out which religion teaches what God's Holy Word says
Matt.7:13-14 tells us to "Go in through the narrow gate because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it,whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life and few are the ones finding it" and at
Matt.7:21-23 Jesus says - "Not everyone saying to me 'Lord,Lord',will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day,'Lord,Lord' did I not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? And yet then I will confess to them:I never knew you!Get away from me you workers of lawlessness"
So it is up to each one of us whether we want to choose to worship God acceptably and receive the reward of eterrnal life or do what makes us happy for the moment and receive everlasting destruction.

I often wonder the same thing for the same reasons. Why do people who are so different expect them all to agree on 1 religion. I don't know is it because its in right your wrong issue, because some go by the Bible literally, spread the word. But at the same time Jesus Said love all mankind, do not judge and accept and respect their beliefs. even though we are 75% Christan in this country over all they are on only about 33% of the rest of the world. Plus i think there are afraid, to realize that there may be validity to another religion means it would cause then to doubt what they have taught. and there faith would be shaken I don't think some are secure in there faiths. so they need to down others so push them up. So many fail to accept the fact also that so much of Christianity is based on Paganism. they say its the other way around.
I'm a Witch to and very happy and secure in my path and I agree I have been a much better person the longer that I have followed this path. Much more peace. and it is OK ! I believe its supposed to be this way for a reason that much of humanity has not grasp, the concept of Diversity, Tolerance, Acceptance and being non Judgmental.

It's ok if there is no such thing as objective truth. However, if objective truth exists then two opposing beliefs cannot both be true. If believing something false makes a person happier then I suppose it has some value, at least on a temporary basis. But I still prefer to seek genuine truth before accepting it as a guide for my life. That will have eternal value.

A friend of mine once asked me to consider becomming a witch, I declined, because I may have been confused about what the truth is , but I believe in God, and know he is not pleased with witchcraft. They are opposite extremes. It is better to be on God's side of a team than his opponent. YOu may think you have to finish out a certain amount of time before you can become a christian, after being a witch, but I don't believe that. If you call on Jesus, he can deliver you anytime.

There can only be one true God. There can only be one way into God's heaven. There is only one God that became a man so He could die for your sins on the cross and offer salvation to all that would believe. There is only one true God that rose again the third day for your justification. He is alive and He did it all for you. Salvation does not depend on your works but it is based on what He did. Philippians 2: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Philippians 2: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Romans 4: 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It is ok dear. The orthodox church caused a lot of threats and lies to be written in the Bible. I am quite sure that an all powerful God knows when its name is called, regardless of how a person needs to picture or label it to identify. Anything else is limiting the power of God. I have enough awareness to answer when my son calls me "dad', when my martial arts students call me by my instructor's title, when familiar people call me by my first name, and when unfamiliar people call me by Mr. Why should God be any less understanding, aware or intelligent than we are?
I am a Christian, but I have a lot of respect for Neopagan doctrine when a person actually chooses to follow it. (As opposed to teenagers calling themselves witches for shock value.)
Don't let people tell you that you are wrong because it doesn't fit into their own dead beliefs. Follow what you feel and do good in the world, God will notice and love you.

There is truth and then there are lies. Either there is consciousness after death or there isn't. Either God burns his disobedient children alive in a place of firey torment or he doesn't. Either Satan is a real being or he isn't. Either God has the absolute right to rule over mankind or he doesn't. Either we have free will or we don't. Either there are consequences for the decisions we make or there aren't. You will answer all these questions for yourself or you won't. Either way, the true God will decide who gets to live or die. Each of us will either be happy or be gone forever.

You and I are in the same boat. :) However, to answer your question, I believe is ego. Everyone wants to be right all the time and it's so hard to admit when you're wrong. It's easier and less time consuming to take someone's word for it than to go do some research, experience, and make your own conclusions.

one can tell the type of religion by the society and the type of society by the religion. GOD is to big to be put in one place. there are many ways to get to ones destination such as walking, running, ride a bike, a motorcycle, take a car, a train, a plane, a bus, etc.etc.etc. and still arrive at the destination. what religious belief system works for a hunter-gatherer culture and society may not work for an agriculture based culture and society because their needs are different. as long as one respects a different culture and societies belief system then theirs should be respected in return. personal religious belief system is a combination of many- Christian-Native American-Ancient Way-Oriental etc. mine works for me others need to discover their own.

Is it possible that there is only one truth? Does the universe revolve around laws that cannot be broken? If you feel fulfilled are your feelings what counts? If there is a God or "the divine" would he not want to be known to man his creation. Would he not provide a means to know Him in truth?
