How bad compare to hamburger?

depends on the 'dog'. Turkey franks are low fat, and not made with nitrites. Beef, or the regular franks (made with beef, and pork parts) are loaded with nitrites. Nitrites are proven to be carcinogenic or cancer causing. Over time, eating such foods builds up the level of toxins in your body. Don't recommend their consumption.

Hot Dogs are not bad for you if you don't over eat them. There are also hot dogs for sale under the brand name: Healthy Choice. They are low fat .. but taste very very good. But any hot dog now and then will only add a little extra fat to your diet. I wouldn't worry about it. Good Luck! :)

Hot dogs are made from animal (beef, pork) gizzards, liver kidney yuk..parts that they usually throw out....if you want real hot dogs..read the lable and it should say ..100% beef, chicken, pork ....

go to Trader Joe's they carry some wonderful and delicious chicken hot dogs! only 160 cal compared to sausgages (italian, polish) that are $250 to 300 cals.

They are bad news because they contain nitrates, which could trigger a migraine. And it is a processed food so it contains high amounts of salts and sugars.
