If I saw her in a Western country I would think, wow that girl's breaking societal norms and proud of it!

In a non-western country I'd wonder if they wear it all the time.

HIjaabis are really cool people though. This "internalized opresson" crap shows how ignorant people are of Islam. Especially considering most western converts are women :P

When I saw her (assuming this happened in MY community) I would think "Wow, how brave she is declaring her beliefs infront of all these a.s.s.holes too narrowed minded to think of anything but booze and Baptist Christianity. I wonder if she would be willing to talk to me?" In a different community, such as a larger city, "Cool, this city is so diverse! I wonder if she'd talk to me?" But most likely my husband would act like a d.i.c.k and say something ignorant and/or stupid and/or offensive. Then I would jab him in the ribs AGAIN(!!!!!!!!) and think "She'd never share a belief based conversation with the wife of a p.r.i.c.k redneck" And sigh...

They're into their culture and enjoying it. If it's common in that person's culture then I have no problem with it. The kurtchief isn't hurting me in anyway so let a person wear one.
