Amish are descendants of German Baptists and emphasize things like the sermon on the mount of Jesus
Amish are a Christian denomination that practices a displine of simplicity, some feel they could emphasise doctrines of grace and be a little more rounded and a little less legalistic but I do not know and cannot say Mennonites have some similarity but are more like a conservative evangelical group and tend to also live simpler than many moderns but use more technologies
I am so terribly saddened by the recent amish tragedy in Lancaster and shed not a few tears over hearing it and I drive by that area sometimes on the way to the Sight and Sound Theater in Strousberg PA......
to any Amish reading...we in NY are SO SO SORRY to hear of your sorrow at the tragic irrational event at your school
here is a verse from Isaiah for you about Jesus, who is the only one who can truly bring deep comfort and is close to those who are crushed
many prayers for you all

We of Austin Mennonite Church sincerely invite you to join us in worship and fellowship any Sunday.
What brings us together is our commitment to be disciples of Jesus.
Mennonites are people who believe that Jesus said what he meant and that he was saying it to us.
This means that we try to live Christ centered lives that reflect our Anabaptist beliefs.
This also means that we take seriously Christ's call to be peacemakers and serve those around us in Austin and in the world. The Austin Mennonite Church community is a group of dedicated Christians who gather for worship and fellowship.
Mennonites believe in community.
You can not be a Mennonite in isolation or by yourself. Our community of faith is a place where we can find support and caring that empowers each one to be a disciple of Christ.
