Ran some free registry cleaning software and now when I click on thumbnails(jpegs) they dont automatically open in the correct software. As you may have gathered, I'm a bit dumb with computers and a step by step idiots guide would be a great help. Thanks

..n i suggest you in another way... jus simply follow the givn steps below:--
--> open any window (My Documents / My Computer / or any)
--> go to Tools from Menubar of the window
--> a new window popups, showing "General, View, File Types, Offline Files" tabs
--> select File Type tab...
--> search 4 .jpeg n .jpg extenisons and
--> select them and click on the button "CHANGE"
--> and now select Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
--> press ok and den close...
now, u can able to view ur .jpeg or .jpg or any other selected file extension..... as u want...
datz it...!!

Go to SETTINGS then CONTROL PANEL then FOLDER TYPES then a tab called FILES.
You will see a list of file types including jpeg and jpg there. You will see that it says "opens with ..." some file name. Click on the CHANGE box and select Picture/Fax Viewer. Then click OK and from then on that will be the one that you automatically use for jpg and jpeg.

When you next go to look at one of these pictures do the following. Highlight the picture file. Then while holding down the shift key right click on the file name. Here you should select the "Open With...." option. When this window opens find the application you want to open the picture with. Under the application list is a little check box. Make sure this is checked off and then the system will associate all files of that type with that application.

If You right click on the thumbnail and selest properties
then go to"opens with "
click change
Select Windows photo and fax viewer
then click ok

right click on one of jpeg files -> chose properties-> click on change... and chage openning software with your wanted program.
